Just curious. I just started school and our teacher wants us to practice 3 hours every day. I find it very hard to always get in 3 hours every day! Usually I do between 1.5 and 2.5. So.....I'm curious about what everyone else is doing.

Our teacher told us that we need to practice 2.5 hours a night in order to get through in 2.5 years. We are a part-time program, meeting just 5 hours a week, and most of us work full-time on top of the schooling. I would usually practice 2 hours a night and just finished classes (2 years).

However, everyone is different. In our class, we have people at several stages in their training:
120/140 speed (in school for 2.5 years)
140/160 speed (5.5 years)
160 speed (2 years)
160 speed (3.5 years)

I truly believe that if you put your all in practicing as much as you can (good practicing, not just writing for the heck of it), you will advance quickly. Practice works!
In our program, we meet 8 hours a week. I will definitely try to get in at least 2 hours of practice every day.
I'm practicing for two hours each evening after work and the same at weekends. If I take a 'night off' I'll have to build up the time later in the week or at the weekend. I really don't want to do that though, if I don't practice every day I'll be going backwards instead of forwards. That's just not an option!!
Im doing about 2 hours a day on the machine and then always a review of my briefs. A teacher I had when I first started told us that for every day you dont study, its like going back two days. Its so true, I went on vacation for a week and left my machine at home and when i got back on it I was definitely behind.
