Stenomaster Theory/Online School

I'm just starting my research on where to go to school and what theory to start. I want to go to an online school that is NCRA approved. I've read wonderful things about College of Court Reporting but they teach Phoenix Theory. I really want to learn Stenomaster Theory.

Anyone have any thoughts (Phoenix vs Stenomaster)?? I wish I could buy the Stenomaster book and teach myself that theory but still go to College of Court Reporting online. Is that even possible? I'm probably just dreaming.

I've read so many good things about the Stenomaster Theory but also about College of Court Reporting. Uggg, what to do......

Wow, thanks for all the helpful information. A lot to think about.... I am disciplined but would still prefer an online school vs completely doing on my own.

I do need to call someone at CCR to see if they would let me learn theory on my own and then sign up afterwards. I guess that would be my only choice. I would be so scared to just do everything all by my lonesome.

I wonder if you could learn Phoenix but incorporate a lot of Stenomaster to shorten it up -- if CCR prefers you to start with them from the beginning. Still so much research left before I make my decision.

Ok. I will check out the site and do more research with what you are suggesting. Wow, 3 1/2 to 5 hrs a day on dictation is great. Thanks again!
