I meant to say one footer on one page and a different footer on the second page.

Put your headed at the top of page 1.  At the bottom of page 1 do "omit elements, footers."  The at the top of page 2 start another footer.  Works like a charm!

hi, cindy,

thanks for replying!  I noticed you said headed, does that mean it will appear on the bottom of the page or the top of the page?  and do I choose header instead of footer for that first page?

Oops!  Do it the same way except subsitute footers for when I said header.  If I didn't make it clear and you need to call me feel free...248.202.8858.

Doris,

Never heard of that....don't think it's possible.

Bring up your Insert Print Command box (Alt N) and choose Footer.  Then you type in what you want on the footer page.  this is for page 1.  Then for page 2, you would do the same thing, Alt N and type in whatever footer you want there.  Whatever is on page 2 will print on all subsequent pages unless you choose to Omit the footer under the same Insert Print Command box.

i tried that, but neither one comes out.  it's like they cancel each other out or something.  I can get the footer to print on page 2 and subsequent pages, but I cant get the other footer to print on page one.

Okay.  Check the top of page 1 to make sure you don't have "omit footers" turned on, first.  Also check your footer margin.  It may be putting in two footer lines from page 2 on.  Don't know for sure.  I was thinking about that after I responded and thought, with headers, I think whatever you type in on Page 1 and then put in a new header or erase and insert on page 2 just changes whatever's on page 1.

However, if you only need the footer on a hard copy paper, I would put the footer on page 1, print page 1, delete the footer, and go to page 2 and put the footer on and print from page 2 forward.

If it's for the ASCII file to be converted into Etran or something like that, I would leave them off of the ASCII and only put them in on the Etran or similar program.  If you still want them in in the ASCII file, it's probably easier to only print the footer for page 2 forward on the ASCII and then edit the ASCII file and insert the footer you want on page 1.

great suggestions!  thank you.  I am going to use the print one page and then print the others.  I really appreciate your response.
