Hi Classmate! I've been trying to catch up on the DB at school and I love your story. I'm a huge animal lover and would have loved to have grown up out in the country. Just the other night I told my husband that when we win the lottery, I want to buy some land and run a pet rescue/adoption program.

Good luck this semester. I am planning to sit for the RPR this spring too. I really want to finish school and get on with things!

    Hi, Roxanne.

The horse caught my attention so had to check out your page ( I ran barrels as a kid ;), but then the Phoenix comment made me have to write. Don't want to get you started, but I totally agree with you. If you haven't started incorporating a shorter writing style, I think you'd have great results if you did. Of course wait until after the CSR since you're so close, but for a long, happy career, you really want to slow your hands down.

Good luck on the test, and I wish you a wonderful CR career. I'm in my 28th year and love it even more than ever. It's just a wonderful career choice, in my opinion.

    Happy writing short!

    Hey Roxanne,

Your picture caught my eye as well, and I wanted to let you know how beautiful it is!!

My daughter (11 y.o.) started riding about a year and a half ago, and we have fallen head over heels for horses. We're a "critter" family... dogs, guinea pigs, birds... I have no doubt we'll add a horse or two in there some day. :)

    Congrats on getting to 225!!!

    Hi Roxanne
    Hey, nice photo!
I, too, am a student (age 53), almost at my 180s speed level, with a local 2-year college (they say it takes 2 years, yeah, right),,anyway, I typed fast as a high school kid, and did written shorthand all my life, so, this is coming pretty well.
I saw some of the Phoenix materials being provided with used Stentura machines, but had textbooks here. I tend to write shorter than even my instructors, and they are amazed that I can read my gook. I can! Thats the trick of this business, you and your computer have a "PACT",, you tell it what to look for, and it translates back to GLISH (English)...
Anyway, nice to meet you, let me know how you do,, nice photo, again,
    thanks

    Roxanne:
thanks for your encouragement, I can use all the push Ic an get to get through these last few speed traps. I think the mind has to absorb and completely translate into Steno before it comes out the fingers, otherwise, its just like the wood tiles in the tray in Scrabble game we played as kids.
I envy your location and love for horses; Nevada has always intrigued me, really the entire Northwest has.
CARTg at church was something that I drove myself to as a goal to get fast enough to get most of what our Pastor way saying. He starts out very fast for about 25 minutes, then slows down to MY range, where I get just about everything. I think processing our English language in Steno is a real accomplishment, considering we have been talking and spelling like our traditional schools have always had us do; then we go and change it up to the Steno method...Makes PERFECT sense!, lol
Anyway, thanks for responding, take care and enjoy those evening rides on your beautiful horse.

Hi Roxanne, my name is Shannon. I have a horse also. I live in the Hill Country of Texas in a town called Bandera, a/k/a Cowboy Capital of the world. I have a beautiful paint that I haven't ridden in 4 years...can you believe it? I'm so ashamed. There just seems to be a lot to do around the property and fixing up our house when I'm not working. I'm horrible at managing my time and need to do better. One of my fears of riding again is that I've forgotten how to saddle her up and put the bridle on. Stupid, huh? You sound a lot like me when I was younger.

How jealous I am!! I had horses growing up...sigh. Yours is beautiful! :)

    Roxanne,

Add me with the rest of those who saw the picture of you with the horse and just had to check out your page. I just love the picture and have enjoyed looking at you slide show as well!!

My daughter is 14 and goes weekly to a place where they do therapeutic horseback riding. She'll be competing in her first show at the end of May, probably just in one event. Not sure what at this point. Maybe equitation? She has learning and behavior issues and she just shines on the horse. They said she was a natural on the horse from the very first ride. We're hoping that some day some maturity will kick in and she'll be able to have her own horse.

This really is a great place to meet people and make new friends. I hope you're finding that to be so.

    Hello, Roxanne...

You look like you are lovin' life, and I want you as one of my friends! I'm very new to this site--first day on. Your pictures are beautiful, and when I get to Cancun in June for my wedding, I'll definitely try to ride the horses on the beach. I can't wait.
  • Shannon Wise

Roxanne, I didn't even know you got back with me, Your slide show is wonderful. Your horse is beautiful. I have a red roan paint and would love to find a black quarter horse to breed her with. She didn't take last time I tried a couple years ago. She miscarried. The vet could not wait to see what she produced. Anyway, yeah, right now she's a big yard pet. I will clean her up and take a picture of her and post it on my page. I really need to start riding again. I just have no one to ride with. We live out in the boonies on a dirt road, and it used to safe to ride, but now people just drive too fast and it scares me because of the curves and hills. I was doing my walk a couple weeks ago and two ladies out riding stopped me and said I could ride with them. I told them that would be great as soon as I got her used to the road again. I live in the Cowboy Capital of the World and people still tie up their horses on main street. It's wonderful. I want you as my friend too.

I wish I could, except town is 50 miles away...where the work is anyway. Don't think Fancy would enjoy that commute. One lady was on the news a couple weeks ago, she parked her diesel dually and is riding her horse to work. It's only 4 miles, though. We may all be back to horse and buggy before too long. Hope things are going well for you.
