    Hi, Linda,

Just spotted you as a new member here. What a fun site! I reconnected just two days ago with one of my best court reporter school buddies from over thirty years ago. Have fun prittifying up your page - Jenny

    Linda,

So nice to see your smiling face! I just got off the phone with Debi A., a new backup scopist for me. I met her here, of course. There's great info here and really nice people. The problem is not spending too long hanging out here when there's deadlines to meet!
  • Cathryn Bauer

I surely do! Welcome! Great photo, BTW.

Linda!!! I'm thrilled to hear from you AND SEE YOU for the first time here! With our work we've done together I'd still never laid eyes on you, and you're beautiful! I only discovered this site at the DRA convention a couple weeks ago in Santa Rosa, and I'm looking forward to gleaning more from the site, and I look forward to talking ( and hopefully working) with you more! I hope you're doing very well!

Hi Linda, nice to hear from you. It seems to me we actually did meet eons ago at a law firm in San Jose. Since this photo was taken, I've shaved the moustache. Alas, my hair color still matches the dog. At least after 30+ years of reporting I haven't pulled it all out (the hair, that is). Hope you are doing well

    Hi Linda,
So happy to "run" into you :) One of these days we've got to connect. Missed you at the DRA convention. It was a great convention. SMAFT, that's how I found CSRnation. Well, transcript break is over . . .
  • Lorrie L. Marchant

    Likewise!
Hopefully so! I'm glad that I could help you out! And I will have to try that refresh feature with Bridge. How cool!
Hope to hear from you soon!
    :)

    Dear Linda,
I was so sorry to hear about Gina's passing
I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you about Gina's equipment. Seems there's always some deadline to submit a report, etc. But you're busy, too, and you seem to manage to accomplish things outside of work.
If you will send me a notice of Gina's equipment, I would be happy to post it.
We'll be having our advisory board meeting on Thursday, April 17, 6-8:30 p.m. We would love to have you join us. If you are interested, just let me know and I will send you an invitation, parking pass, etc.

    Linda,
I finally got on the Internet here at the hotel. I turned around in class and you had disappeared so I wasn't able to thank you in person, but I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your company in class and your generosity in letting me write on your cute little LS! If you haven't already deleted my dix, please keep it and look it over when you get a minute. I may have some interesting conflicts in there. Sort them by the A/I rules and check out the /exhibits/Exhibits if you don't already have entries like that. Keith and Jeremy fixed my macro choice issue after class - so nice! If your 1-RBGS isn't working for you, let me know and I'll tell you more. If you want to meet up one day to work on those RT macros, let me know and I'll drive in from Boulder Creek. I'll be thinking about that LS ... Thanks so much, Jenny
  • Jenny Griffin, RMR CRR CCRR CRC

Linda, Did you decide to keep your LightSpeed? Barb DeVico from this site is now loving hers. How are your realtime macros coming along? I've been using the new dev version on all my jobs the last month with no problems. I really like the A/B customization!

Wow, that sounds like a fabulous vacation! My only trip to Singapore and Bali was in '83 - so beautiful. I know two reporters who are on the waiting list for the wind computer. Here's a review:

I also have a depo tomorrow and may have another in Fremont on Thursday. I'll contact you next week to check out your schedule for future intense Eclipse streamlining!
  • Jenny Griffin, RMR CRR CCRR CRC

Hi, Linda, Guess what I'm expecting delivery of tomorrow. Yes, I'm trying out the LightSpeed. I may be going back to Fremont to work on Friday, but if not, I'll give you a call and see when we can meet up to work on some Eclipse stuff. I'm wondering if you've had a chance to concentrate on your LS lately. Hope so! I also hope you have really great air conditioning!!!

Hi Linda! Thought I'd reply - I'm up in the Kansas City area, which is
about three hours away from Wichita. I have no contacts down there, so I'm
afraid I can't help you. I wish you luck!!
  • Tricia McLaughlin

Nice to see your picture, Linda. Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

Linda, I just got my Stenocast out of the box and successfully wrote to it only two days ago. Just for practice, of course! Work is still slow. I've thankfully got a WC interpreter today - had a no-show yesterday in Palo Alto. Hope things are going great for you. My Grand needs a new cable so I can't say it's going that well. Today I'll use the LightSpeed unless the cable comes in my mail before I leave! It's always something! Let me know when you want to play with your LS.
  • Jenny Griffin, RMR CRR CCRR CRC

Linda, my job yesterday was so slow, and I had to use the LS. It really aggravated my thumbs so that was proof enough for me that I made the right decision in trying the Gemini Grand. I had terrible thumb issues around 12 years ago and thought I'd have to quit reporting. So it may not bother anyone else. I bet my next week will be slow as well so I'd love to get together. I'll call you when I know more. I do realize with your busy schedule, it may be a while before we connect. I'm so excited for you regarding your kitchen remodel. Fun!!! Don't feel bad about setting the LS aside for a while longer - one thing at a time! Another beautiful day today - I'm getting another much-needed massage this afternoon - my second this week because of my arms and now thumbs! Take your breaks!
  • Jenny Griffin, RMR CRR CCRR CRC

Linda, I'm so sorry I couldn't do those jobs for you this week! My elbows are still giving me trouble, and I'm so sick of it! I'm here at Mom's tonight as I have an 11:00 in Hayward tomorrow and a 10:00 in Fremont on Thursday. These jobs I normally would have other reporters cover, but now, with things so slow, in the car I go! At least it's nice to see my old clients and Mom - who feeds me! Mom's yard is incredibly gorgeous right now. How's your kitchen coming along???
  • Jenny Griffin, RMR CRR CCRR CRC

Linda, Yes, sell the thing! I'm selling mine. And for a really good price for someone. I have a LS user on the fence about getting mine as a backup. I'll give her a few days and then I'm advertising it. I'm not going to LV, but I'm mad as so many people I know now are going and it would be fun! I don't need any more points for more than a year, but it's a money thing. I just don't have it! And what I get for the LS is paying for the Grand - which I'm still tweaking! Have a nice safe trip tomorrow - the weather should be good! Not too hot!
  • Jenny Griffin, RMR CRR CCRR CRC

Linda, sorry I missed your call back today. I was at Office Max in Santa Cruz copying icky exhibits! I've been so stressed out these last few weeks. Lots of rushes and my worst job ever last week. Can't even bear to look at it yet! Was also feeling sorry for myself that I couldn't afford to go to LV this year! Touched your LS lately? I still need to sell mine. The Grand is working out pretty well! Hope you got your job covered!
