Hi, Tami - It takes me a while to figure out I have a message. I did join the Magnum Steno Club. Mark has a little video on adjusting the Mira which really made a big difference and diminished the stacking. I'm still having a few of those strokes that go double so might still send it in to be looked at, but I'm much happier after following Mark K's video. Although I don't stay on top of Mark's dictation at all, I find once I practice it, I can move over and write while listening to NPR.org and get that without any drops for the most part, so it definitely does improve writing speed! I'm looking forward to working more on my briefs since I write many things out that he shortens. That should give me a boost. The work calendar is definitely heating up again, though, so this may get back-burnered a little bit... Alice
My son is going to University of Mass. Dartmouth. He's only about 40 minutes away, which makes me really happy. I can get there easy enough. I hope we can have dinner every now and then.
Del Taco? We don't have any of those here, but it sounds so good! We have Taco Bell, which really isn't very good. I love Mexican food, though.
I hope you're healing, feeling better. You feel bad about not working out for a day? You're definitely winning the six-pack competition. I can't even tell you the last time I was at the gym. I've had so many expedites this year. Great year financially, but terrible year taking care of myself. Some day maybe I'll achieve balance. That's worth working for.
perfect moment to pipe in about needing 15-minute breaks
Tami, Tami, Tami!
Have you ever read Oprah's magazine? There is always an article by Dr. Phil where he has a practice paragraph relating to communicating some issue he has talked about in the article. I think we need to come up with a practice paragraph for you so you can communicate your special issues with your judge. Maybe you have a friend who knows what I am talking about. Maybe you can sit down in the evening and compose a paragraph of your own.
If I was into writing, I could help. I am not very good at communication, except for asking for breaks during a job. I do excel at that. It is such a necessity. If they are not willing to give me a break, it is the equivalent in my mind of a form of torture, and I refuse to be tortured in any way by anyone!
I am confident that you will be able to think of something. If you write it down and practice saying it a few times, you will be able to create another moment where you can get your needs met by your insensitive (clueless) judge. Unless they are educated in our needs, they will never learn. Someone must teach them, and I think that must be part of our job. I sure wish you good luck as it is so important!
Do as I say, not as I do. Right! We know Clay has plenty of smarts - and a good teacher. Plus, he's a guy! I do believe you can educate your judge, though. Please report back!!!
I was just reading a book while having my PB & J on a plate with a cup of decaf black tea. The woman made her entire dinner from her own garden veggies, and decorated from her flower bed. I thought of you!
It's a horse mystery series written by a local Santa Cruz author. Pretty lightweight - all I can handle today! Are you into horses at all? I'm not. But I'll read practically any mystery!
I actually used to run barrels . Those girls at the rodeos racing around the three barrels??
I can't tell you what a kick I got out of your comment. Of course you ran barrels! My cousin Kathy has always been into horses. Here's a link to her neato website. If you know anyone who you think may be interested in her site, please forward it on! It's her only source of income.

I'm now back at the computer after my treats: Sitting on the deck in the shade and feeling the perfect breeze; watching the fat squirrel jump into the apple tree and get his prize; watching a very young deer foraging for any left-over pears and whatever apples the squirrel has dropped; reading my horse mystery! You already know I had dark coffee and bittersweet chocolate!
Tami,
Just wanted to drop you a quick note, haha. My kids always
know that whenever I say, "quick" anything, you better take a seat and stay a while!
Got your message and will be responding soon. I have some questions for you too. Just been answering a few other messages and working my way down the list - not that you're the bottom of my list 'cuz in my book you are TOPS!
Hope you had a terrific PAID day off! Write you soon...
Hi, Tami. I have a message from you in my inbox here that, for some reason, I can't open and read. All I get is an error message. So I am sorry if it appeared that I wasn't responding. Wonder if you might be able to resend??????
Tami, Hope you had an easy day yesterday. I may have a job tomorrow - definitely one on Friday. That leaves me today to get everything done. My math abilities are able to figure that much out, and not much more!
what somebody owes us - Yes! That reminds me, I've got to do some rebillings!!! I pull out my invoices and then pick up the phone. Haven't done it for a while. My bad!
I never would have changed my avatar, but Marge said old avatars are a bit creepy! I see her point. Yours is pretty new - no worries there - but I'd love a good close up of ya!
Thanks for the compliment, but my pic is from quite a distance!
Yes, your computer should be out of bounds for your boys. My laptop is getting old now and I need to think of replacing it soon, I'm afraid. Now I remember your getting your computer. Sometimes it takes a while for things to kick in. I've been helping Brenda with a minor Eclipse issue. She had an old macro giving her some trouble. I love it when stuff gets solved so easily!
Just letting you know B & J will be ready to help you when you finally get that software delivered and installed!!!
dateline that I've created in the editer containing my TRIPTS. - Yikes! I have no idea what a dateline might be! But not to worry. There are plenty of officials out there on Eclipse who probably do.
What I think you should do now is post that question, giving a bit more explanation here on the Total Eclipse group. See what answers you get before you even get the software.
Yes, she will be ready then. And, yes, I will absolutely enjoy having her here. That part is awesome. We enjoyed the beach on Labor Day (your paid day, you rat). Sara, Logan (a friend), Meg, A.J. and I were able to enjoy the ocean, sand, and sun -- and then some pizza. We wrote for 2 hours in the morning and then headed off. It was an awesome day of relaxation together. The weather was beautiful and the waves were amazing. We stayed in the water until the sun went down.
Pulling weeds is relaxing, and the yard always looks so nice afterwards. Yes, you are nutty.
I really want to get together with you, you nut. We are heading to the beach Sunday after church, probably 2:00ish (have a mattress being delivered around 1:00 I think) Are you busy? Wanna go? We have lots of surfboards, stand up paddle board and body boards. Let me know.
Good for Clay. Slow week for me. Temecula depo tomorrow. Swimming laps at the pool now. So hot out!! Just had to rub it in a little. Keep in touch if Sunday would work for you.
Ha! Of course - everyone must have one weakness! I spoke with an Advantage person this morning about becoming a trainer. He's going to send me out a trainer packet and wants me to look it over. We'll see!
I used my new writer RT editing macros all through my job this afternoon! It's so amazing! I made ? into periods, changed speakers, split a Q into a Q and A. Now I just need to make a macro so I can do quotes and a new paragraph from the writer.
But this is more advanced stuff. You can learn this the second month you have Eclipse! Then you can shame Lisa with your hyperkey/macro abilities!!!
I know! Are we sick or what? I have a late afternoon depo on Thursday with two witnesses, 60 miles away. I'm soooooo hoping it doesn't run too long so I can't get back in time to watch it from the beginning.
The fish sounds amazing!!! I love eating fish -- but not catching it, so much. Your husband sounds like quite the fisherman. How nice that is for your dining delight!! And garden veggies, too. How cool is that?
Missed you at the beach!! It was sunny, water 73 and chest to head-high waves. I got a few "set waves" that made my day. Husband was on shift, Megan opted to stay home and write a bunch, so it was Sara and I. We went shopping afterwards -- that part you would have hated. Hit a cute little store on PCH and got some darling things. Swami's cafe has some great smoothies, and our favorite coffee/bakery stop is Pannikin's on PCH. The best rasberrry pie you'll ever have. We brought one home for all to share.
Maybe we can get together on one of your furlough days. I think Surf Club is heading to the beach this Wednesday. They have a Surf Club at Calvary, and I drive when I am not in depos. What a great club: we get to go surfing, and it's an excused absence from school. We have 1 or 2 trips a month.
Or you could come up to the Lake and we could go kayaking or Stand-up Paddle surfing, that is if your shoulder is doing okay. Anyway, we'll have to coordinate somethin.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ONE OF THE SWEETEST, KINDEST, FUN, FUN, FUN, AND OH-SO-HELPFUL COURT REPORTERS EVER!!!!! :) :) :)
Thanks for always being so nice, Tami! I'm very blessed by you! May all your wishes come true! GOD bless you with many, many happy, happy years to come!
Tami, I was not on for a couple days (due to transcripts), and I missed it... Happy belated birthday. Hope you got lots of love.. It sure looks like it..
It's going to be, like, one-a, two-a, three-a, four-a . . . HA!
Crackin' up here!!!!!!
From the previews, it looked like Jeff stops the challenge and throws someone out. I think that would be a first, wouldn't it? And can you believe Russell? OMG!!! The second he started telling that Katrina story, I knew he was lying. I could tell by the things he was saying. What a complete jerk. And then to empty all the water and burn someone's sock? I bet he doesn't have too many friends even in the real world, especially after this season winds down. But, man, it ought to be a good one!!!
