Hello Katiana, Wow! Pretty name. I am only writing you to request to be your friend. Before you answer, please investigate me. come to my site, read up; and go to my friends' sites and see all the advice I gave them. This may take you a very long while because I've given a lot of advice. I am quite winded when it comes to my replies and I hesitate to repeat the long-winded ones. that's why I invite you to read up on all what i've advised thus far. Once you're impressed, I'd like to hear from you. Is that okay? thank you for your time...peace out, Dear Sista. I'll now push the button to request you as a friend. By the way: Welcome to our site. I think you're gonna love it. Sincerely, Me.
Hello, Katiana; How are you? I'm still waiting for your reply. In case you don't know how, just click on my face and it'll take you to my site. I would love to have the honor of being your friend. Peace out.
Thank you so much for the nice compliment! I see you started school in Jan '07 and are near the end now. Very encouraging to others! I started school in Sept '02 and finished in May '04. It can be done!
These are worker comp depos for football players, NFL and XFL and arena football. They were talking about some football player and how so-and-so makes it rain, but so-and-so really makes it rain or something like that. I wasn't really paying attention bec. it was an off-the-record discussion, but I was wondering what they were talking about.
You know, I am not a big football fan. I would not know if they were a big football player or not. About the only ones I could name would be Joe Namath and Peyton Manning or something like that. So with that being said, I don't think they were anybody famous.
One of the attorneys told me the attorney defending the claimant was Tom Mix, and he's supposed to have been a famous player in his day. I dunno.
Hey, Katiana! So glad to see you on here! Thanks so much for the finger packet - I am going to try that this evening!
I wanted to give you a HUGE HUGE thank you for your blog! It is the most reality based and helpful site I've come across - and you are incredibly generous. You will go a very long way in this profession with that attitude!
Do you plan on going into freelance, official, CART, or something else? You are going to be working in no time! Don't you just feel all excited about that?!
Oh...I forgot to tell you - I took your advice on getting rid of distractions - while I'm not distracted by the computer (email, youtube, blogs) at home, I have a lot of interruptions from my kids and friends, so I adopted the practice of getting up at 4 a.m. and doing 3 uninterrupted hours of steno before I start getting ready for work -- it has made such a big difference! It's quiet, the animals and kids are asleep, the phone isn't ringing -- no one is asking for my attention -- it is such a stress reliever and I'm retaining more - so, while it's a little bit of sacrifice to get up a couple of hours earlier, it's beyond worth it!
Just thought I'd let you know that your tips and your blog are really useful!
Hey there(smile) I LOVE that song girl,,, Voice writing is going pretty well for me. I have to admit that it is very different from steno though. I am used to just jumping on my machine and getting it but now its a voice sylencer mask and a laptop!!!!!! It's pretty weird at first but you learn to appreciate it.
How are things going? What kind of certifications are you trying to earn. I'm in CA, so we do things differently. Once we passed our 200s, we could officially "graduate" from school. But we still have to get our CSR license to work. What about you?
I think most people continue to stay in school working on their speed until they pass the CSR. If we haven't gotten our RPR, we continue working on getting the RPR. I was working on passing my 225 tests.
I think I took it three times. The one that I passed I thought was really easy. But I'm sure others thought it was hard. I guess it's just a matter of opinion. I didn't find the written tests that bad. I passed those on the first time.
Congratulations!!! But what do you mean thankfully nothing ordered? That's where you make the money!! And honestly, that's how you get better as a reporter. You learn a lot when you're producing transcripts!!
Yep. If you can concentrate and practice at home and get in productive practice, that's great. Sounds like you're doing well.
Heyyyyyy.....yourself! I've been sick with pneumonia - ugh.....I've had it for a month - put me in bed for nearly 3 solid weeks and I'm still walking around with it! BUT I am still keeping up with school and even passed an 80 while I was sick-- going to do my last 80 this week!
So, you are out of school now? What are you doing? Are you still working for the firm? Let me know and let's catch up - you are a great inspiration!
Hi, Kat! I just wanted to let you know that I am really benefitting from the finger drills, but I don't have the Friday page (what you sent me had two scans of Thursday) - could you send me a scan of Friday?
thanks! I know you are busy, but I can't tell you how much they help!
Hi! Wow! you poor girl - I'm sorry your machine broke - oh, that is SO upsetting - because that's your work -- I am thinking of going ahead and getting a professional machine and I may just keep my protege so that I have at least a backup!
Sorry your week isn't going so well - you have an awful lot on your plate - you are SOOOO young and a newlywed and going to school - I admire you - that's a lot to learn to deal with at the same time! But you know, it will get better -- ya'll are young and have a commitment -- just never ever go to bed mad! It makes the next day awful if you do!
I understand the limitations on your time, so if you can send Friday someday, that would be great -- keep up the good work -- I know you are going to ace your test!
I just saw your question about the -GT stroke - I don't have too much trouble with it. My biggies are the Thursday drills with SPR- and switching to THR- . I have such trouble getting my initial S and T mixed up - I consistently do the wrong one!
Hey, girl! I see your online! Whatcha doin? Did you get your machine back? What happened to it? I was thinking of getting a Fusion or a Mira - do you like yours (I think I have to get the Fusion because I have to have paper) -- your week going okay?
Hey, Kat! How are you? Also, what happened to your other page?!
How's school going? I saw where you say you are staying in school til you get your certifications -- when does that happen?! What all are you having to study?
How did things turn out with your machine - get it all fixed?
I think I'm your biggest blog fan! Hehehe. Your blog, ladysteno.com, inspired me to put up my own blog as I go through this court reporting process. My blog is stenonerd.blogspot.com.
I think it's AWESOME how you went through school so fast! Did you use Mark K's dictations? I really am impressed with your rigorous practice sessions. I know I gotta step it up several notches, so I too can graduate ASAP!
CONGRATULATIONS by the way!!! :)
Thanks for putting up your steno blog! It's such an asset to other court reporting students out there!
Hi, Katiana, I been in court reporting school since February 2007. I am in the last speed trying to finish my test. I still need nine more test. I have completed all my other requirements for graduation. I am really excited about court reporting and cannot wait to be finish.
I also use Case Catalyst, I love this software I have been using it since the beginning of school.
PARIS! Wow - what a storybook life you are leading! Okay - I'm jealous - I can barely get out of town! My big trip was to Dallas this year (well, admittedly, school schedules don't really let me take a big trip - at least that's what I tell myself)! Was it wonderful?! Of Course!
I changed schools to College of Court Reporting and the difference it is making is phenomenal! I'm a much better reporter just after 6 weeks! So, I'm happy! Moving to Lubbock, Texas tomorrow - which also makes me happy!
Wow! Thanks so much for the awesome privilege of being a link on your blog! I just went and added your site onto my blog. Sorry I don't know why I didn't think of doing that earlier! :P
Yeah, sounds like you live a very busy, but very fun and fulfilling life! I'll be keeping up with you through your blog, Lady Steno! :)
Thanks again! Your blog is awesome! And all the best in school!
Hi, Katiana. I'm thrilled to hear from you. Please check your e-mail for my rates. If you have transcripts waiting to be scoped, I can start helping you anytime. Thanks and looking forward to our mutually beneficial working relationship. :)
were you there? I was there and was with Val at the actual FPR seminar. You know her from Sheridan right? I also was talking to Ms. D on the Saturday. I actually would love to IM or email with you regarding some of that stuff!
