I am a PDF proofreader who has read thousands of pages of accident and injury depositions, workers' comp cases, expert testimony, environmental and other proceedings. Hi there! I’m Kathy Snow.

Picky, picky, picky – that’s me, but in a good way! My obsessive attention to detail will help you produce outstanding transcripts.  My tried-and-true method is to read every single word and do extensive research to make sure all names, terms, locations, etc. are spelled correctly, speaker designations are correct, and the format is consistent throughout the document. Then I’ll send you an errata sheet with the corrections (usually just a couple pages) and you make the changes.

I have found that my paralegal background and hands-on training in court reporting school makes me a more well-rounded proofreader with a better understanding of the challenges you face in recording verbatim proceedings.

My longtime (since 1996) court reporter client is taking an extended hiatus, so I am now available, with red pen in hand, to take on your most challenging  depos.

Please contact me at: kathys1530@gmail.com to discuss your project or chat about rates and turnaround times.  You’ll find additional information about my education and experience on my LinkedIn page --I’m the Kathy Snow in Thousand Oaks, California.

I’m looking forward to working with you!

Old-fashioned transcript proofreader with more than 20 years' experience is available to a court reporter that needs help with work overflow (I currently work for two West Coast reporters, but not getting enough consistently steady work). Experienced in regular, same-day and next-day turnarounds (depositions and trials, but have recently concentrated primarily upon accident or injury depositions). Industry experience includes pharmaceutical, construction, LAOSD asbestos cases, Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation and federal cases (SSA, US Tax Court, and DOJ). I proof from PDF or Notepad files, perform online research for verification and quality assurance, maintain running word lists for each case, and provide simple errata sheets of corrections and queries.

Rates (for 25 lines) are:  .75 per page for expedites & real-time – ASAP & same-day turnaround; .60 per page for rush jobs – 24 hours; .50 per page for regular or standard jobs – 48+ hours; and there is no additional charge for weekends. Zelle direct deposit is my preferred payment, but I also use Venmo, Google Pay and PayPal.  If interested, please contact tracyagregory@yahoo.com. Court reporter references and sample errata sheet are available upon request.

My name is Lilly Wright. For the past 18 years I have been proofreading for court reporting professionals throughout the United States. My background is in English and grammar, and I am a seasoned manuscript and manual writer and editor.

When I began proofreading for court reporters, I did a rigorous study of court reporting rules. I then conducted a survey of over 400 court reporters asking them what they believed were the top two problem areas in the proofreading business. The number one response was, as expected, accuracy and experience. The second was quick turnaround time.

Based on this response, I partnered with Travis Newman, a technical writer, and we developed a top-notch proofreading service for court reporting professionals. We are dedicated to delivering quality work on time, including rush or expedite jobs. We are now a small firm consisting of five of the most experienced and intelligent proofreaders in the United States.

Our standard proofreading charge of 45 cents per page includes a 48-hour turnaround time. We work via email with transcripts transmitted to us in ASCII format. We return only the corrections to you. Our 48-hour turnaround time DOES INCLUDE weekend coverage. We work weekends because we know that you usually do!

If you have an interest in trying out our services, please send us a transcript, and one of us will proofread the first 30 pages at no charge. That way you will have an opportunity to verify our speed and accuracy. Our email address is jayproof.reader@gmail.com.

Shown below are our rates and an example of the format in which the corrections are returned to you.

References are available upon request.

Kindest Regards,

Lilly Wright

Hello, I'm Laurie.  I am a busy realtime reporter and I have an immediate opening for a proofreader.  I have only worked with two proofreaders in the past 22 years; one retired and my last proofreader is now my scopist.  So I am looking for a proofreader that I will be working with for the long-term.  I work only on DigitalCat and my proofreader must be proficient using that software.  I take a wide assortment of cases from nontechnical to highly technical.  Attention to detail, reliability and accuracy are all musts when it comes to my transcripts.  I am easy to work with and value my scopists and proofreaders immensely.  I look forward to speaking with you if you would like to apply for this position to work with my team.  :0)
