Hello DONNA and HAPPY B-Day!,,,Welcome to CSRNation, the rockingest steno group on the planet! You have lots to choose on CSR to explore, and enjoy while you meet, share, and just hang out! We are glad to have you!
Enjoy your birthday, Donna, you're one year better! :)

Isn't CSR Nation the BEST?! I'm glad that you got on here and are doing your due diligence in researching for the best option -- to either become a scopist or captioner. I'd say become a captioner! You'll make a LOT of money that way! Hehehe. And still work very closely with words, which I'm sure you love, being a medical language expert and all! :)
However, if you do decide to become a captioner, you'd have to be able to write 200+ wpm on the steno machine... and getting up that hill is a tedious BUT rewarding journey.
If you decide to become a scopist, you'd have to learn how to read various steno notes (different theories out there), know your way around a transcript, and be a master at the court reporter's chosen CAT software. Less money than a captioner, but less stress too (IMO).
