Hi, Nancy!

Wow! I just read your About Me section... and you are awesome! I really admire people who go after LIFE with such gusto and passion! Good for you!

I, too, am a court reporting student and at the same exact level as you... well, almost, I guess. I'm trying to pass my last 160 wpm test to get into 180 wpm. I go back to school (currently on Summer Break) in two weeks.

Do you go to a bricks-and-mortar school or online? I go to an actual building, and I want to finish sometime next year. I go to school full-time and work part-time as a legal assistant... but wish I could just go to school OVER-TIME without having to work, so I can finish already! :P But I know our time will come...

Please check out my blog -- stenonerd.blogspot.com -- where I chronicle my court reporting journey from student to soon-to-be working reporter. Thanks in advance!

I hope you have a great birthday, Nancy! All the best! :)

Way ta go Nancy. I have been working for NYS Comp for 15 years and turning 60 soon -- much too soon, I am also contemplating bailing outta state service and freelancing part-time. I live on LI -- YUK -- and want to take some courses in realtime. Now I don't feel I'm too old to try something new. Working for the state tends to destroy reporting skills due to the low level of professionalism and expectations there are as a civil servant.
Anyway, keep up the work and good luck. Maybe we will meet in the well one day.
