I am now a full-time Case CATalyst scopist and proofreader. I have 32 years of transcribing/scoping/proofreading service, which I started as a service to the court reporters I worked with while a court clerk/judicial assistant for the Los Angeles Superior Court in 1977. I was one of the first to go into computer-assisted scoping when I went onto the Xscribe system in 1984. I served as Xscribe's Southern California area trainer from 1993-1996. Altogether my experience with the LA Superior Court spanned 17 years and included service in civil, criminal, family law, juvenile, and mental health trial and specialized hearing courts. My deposition work includes work in everything from Workers' Comp to med-mal and technical cases, maritime and arbitration hearings, and includes witnesses ranging up through the most technical of experts. In addition to my experience with the court, I am also a licensed speech-language pathologist with 12 years of experience in the medical field. I'm happy to provide references, if desired.
