Well, yesterday was a fun day for me. Not!!

I forgot to turn my mike on for the first hearing. Bleh.

Then I got a call at lunch asking where's that rough? Well, I e-mailed it to you on Friday. Haul my laptop down to the jury room to see if I can find some wi-fi to send in the rough. Unable to get wi-fi hooked up. Double check my e-mail sent box, yes, did send it in. Asked agency to double check their inbox. Yes, they did have it.

Hauled my laptop back up to the courtroom. This is not as easy as it sounds bec. you have to have a keycard to access certain areas of the courthouse. And I, being a temp, do not have such a keycard. So I have to beg, borrow, or steal (just kidding) an access card from the powers that be.

Come back from lunch. Started up my computer, started entering attorney names. Get an access violation and am unable to connect for the rest of the day. Eclipse could not connect w/my writer. So it was back to the old school days. You don't realize how much you miss your laptop screen scrolling the English until you're just staring at a blank laptop screen. AARRGGHHH!!

In the meantime, I tried re-booting my computer and everyone in the courtroom is waiting to get started. Fun times.

After we take the afternoon, calendar, I call tech support. Seems the drivers for my duo serial air card have been lost somehow or something. Do I have the cd? No, I need to go home and get it. Thank goodness we're done for the day.

Drive home. Pick up child. Make dinner. Upload note file from floppy disk. Yay for backup. Upload audio files from digital recorder. Spend 30 minutes looking for cd with drivers for the air card. Finally find the cd in the trunk of my car.

Call tech support to upload the drivers. Finally get everything fixed.

But, man, it was a stressful day.

The only good thing is that I don't have to transcribe anything. Whoo-hoo. But you know three years down the line someone is going to ask for the transcript for the day from hell. Bleh!!! This stuff could potentialy haunt me for 8 years.

And in those eight years, they will only ask for transcripts from your worst days. Amen.
