I am a court reporter in San Diego and was wondering if anyone has any feedback for L.A. rates. I'm wondering what the page rate is that is paid in L.A., and I'm also wondering if there is an hourly rate? If anyone has any suggestions, that would be awesome!

My agency is in LA and Marla's quotes rates are what my LA agency pays their reporters because their LA and NY rates are the same.

Here's a general range of rates that I've found in LA:
P.I. PAGE RATE: $3.70 to 4.20
BUSINESS LIT RATE: $3.85 to 4.30
MEDICAL/TECHNICAL RATE: $4.00 to 4.60
COPY: $1.00 to 1.50
ROUGH: $1.00
LIVENOTE:$1.00 - $1.25 or per diem
RUSH: 10% extra each day
EXTRA FOR INTERPRETED DEPO: $.25/pg to 10% extra to $110 per diem
EXTRA FOR VIDEOTAPED DEPO: $.25/pg to $1/pg or 10% extra or $110 per diem
MINIMUM TRANSCRIPT FEE: $175 to 200
ARBITRATION PER DIEM: $200 to 350 (full day) $100 to 175 (half day)
APPEARANCE FEE, NO CERT: $100 to 125
CERTIFICATE OF NONAPPEARANCE: $125 to 150
AFTERHOURS (before 9 or after 5): $35 to 50/hr
TURNAROUND: 8 to 10 bus. days
PRINTING PREFERENCES: Email transcript or print and ship to agency
No one pays hourly that I know of unless it's overtime or wait time, like if your depo starts late.
