Quick intro, for those who are interested

I decided to create a blog entry introducing myself, since I'm under the impression we're not to send messages to entire groups. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm Alma, and I live in Missouri with my son, who will be six in September.

I recently passed our certification exam and have been applying for full-time official or work comp positions as I see them come open.

In the meantime, I've also been enjoying transcribing for court reporters from home. I feel lead to start my own transcription business, but I haven't yet. If I could get enough work, I would do transcription full-time. Transcription is very conducive to being a parent.

I'm here to make new friends, network with old, etc. So if anyone would like, feel free to add me. I haven't yet figured out how to chat on here but I'll get there, I think. :) So that's about it in a nutshell. My thanks to Deby for recommending me to this site and for her assistance in setting up my page. I owe ya one! :)

Hope everyone's well, and remember to set your clocks forward tomorrow night. We spring forward early this year.

I look forward to being a member here!

Hi there,

What I mean is, yes. I'm basically looking to either transcribe from tapes or backup or proof from backup. Any help would be greatly appreciated! If you don't mind, send me an email:

Thanks so much; look forward to hearing from you!

Hi, Alma,

I'm a scopist. Just curious - what do you mean by "transcribing"? Do you really mean scoping, editing, proofing? If so, I could tell you how I obtain some customers.

Thanks a bunch! It's great to meet you, also. :) Any tips on how I could get started transcribing for other reporters? I love it because I can do it from home, and with my visual impairment, it's perfect. Feel free to write or email me privately anytime!

Hi there Alma,

I'm Annemarie. Nice to meet you.

Congratulations on passing your exam, that's great!! I graduated from CR school in Texas, but took time off to be a mom. That was four children ago!

I'm now scoping, which I love, and contemplating the possibility of reporting in Kentucky, which is where I live now.

Anyhow, welcome and hope to talk to you again.

Hi alma, we are so happy to have you in our little community.
I hope you get to network and maybe even get work from other members.

NO! Nor does Easter feel right on the 23rd??? Greek Orthodox Easter isn't until the end of April -- I think I'll celebrate then. :)

Don't feel bad. I did, too until the news reminded me. Doesn't seem like we should be springing forward now, does it? :)
