How is that free? Why am I paying sales tax for an item that I supposedly am getting for free? No money is changing hands here, why do I have to pay sales tax? Am I paying sale tax on the discounted price? What's going on?

I'm just talking generically. Nothing in particular but how stores lure you in with the word "free," and it's not.

I don't know what you are specifically taking about.. but Yeah, I get annoyed when they charge me tax on the original price of an item that is on sale.. I cant believe that's even legal!?
I mean, don't they "stores" collect tax to give to the state and federal? I don't see how they charge you tax on an amount you didn't pay!?
