Hmmm....blogging. Well, here it goes.

I enjoy writing. It started in freshman year of high school and my English teacher had us keep a journal every day. She told us to wrte about anything. That's when it started. I enjoyed expressing myself in words and I felt good about it. Good and bad, all my thoughts and feelings went in to my journal.

Then in sophmore year, my classmate, Kevin Ryan, asked me if I wanted to co-write a column in the school newspaper, The Tower. It was named that because one of the more prominent parts of my high school was, what else, a tower. The column was called "The Mosh Shop" and we wrote about happenings in the world of rock music. We also reviewed new records that came out.

I really want to thank my English teachers because without their help I would not enjoy writing as much. I enjoy writing as much as I do talking. However, a lot more comes out when I write, but I'm working on that. I also got into the school literary magazine once, too, in my senior year. I wrote articles for the school's chapter of Amnesty International. That's where I got bit by the public speaking bug, too.

I remember a woman I worked with at one of my part time jobs told me, "You write so well, why do you want to be a court reporter for? It's a waste of your talent." I kind of muttered something to her as teenagers usually do when adults offer advice and I went in court reporting school and wrote stuff there for English class.

Now I'm here, a court reporter for 14 years, and I've written over a dozen articles for the JCR and my state's magazine. Writing is fulfilling for me; when the inspiration strikes me I put it into words. Same here, I'm not going to be a "mad" blogger blogging about every little detail in my life but at least I'll have a forum to express myself on a different level.

Enjoy.

I love to write, to put my thoughts on paper. Usually I write frivolous things like "How romance novels ruined all men for me," or opinionated pieces regarding how I really feel about banning peanut butter from school cafeterias (based on my personal experiences as a lunch lady). One of these days I may even get up the nerve to start my on blog. In the meantime, I'll anxiously await anything you want to contribute for our reading pleasure, Anthony.

It is refreshing to read an article that flows and uses proper English. I find that most people I know cannot write a complete sentence. Thank you for the correct use of commas and "your" and "you're." :)

I have read your posts to others, and as a student, I appreciate your sharing of knowledge and experience.

I admire those with the gift of writing talent. I enjoy writing as well. Unfortunately for me, my writing is much like my speaking -- the thoughts just come too quickly and garbled for me to express them eloquently. LOL

Looking forward to reading more from you : )
