I had a witness give an inaudible response. Actually, there was no response given at all.

Do I have to put a parenthetical for no response?

I take that back. That's not how I do it.  I put it in brackets:

Q Do you need to have the question repeated?

A [No response.]

Q Do you need more time to review the document?

A [No response.]
