Ok. I have 9 months left in the program and quite honestly, I am losing my focus. I know I want this so bad but it just seems like I am stuck. I could probably take some speed tests and hope that I pass but it just seems like I don't even want to practice anymore.

I just don't know at this point what I should do............................

To be continued....................

Angela, I feel for you, but the only wisdom I have to offer is that it's kind of a never-ending cycle. You will find when you FINALLY get through with the program and are out working in the field like you've always dreamed, one day, you will wake up and wonder why on earth you ever wanted to be a court reporter! This will go on for a few days (or longer) and you will wake up another day and actually enjoy your job again. So take the advice above and you'll be fine. If you've been working on it too much, take a break. If you've taken too long of a break from serious work, it's time to get back in there swingin'. Good luck and realize that it's just a brick in the wall, it is what it is, and you'll see the other side -- eventually! :-)

been there sistah, and I know many other students have too.
You can do it. I know you can. You have already gotten this far. this career was made for you! YOU already have the software and you are in the scoping field.

Try finger drills to music, that helps me get in the mood to practice.
Take your machine out while watching your fav show or movie.
Take a break for a while, maybe that's what you really need.
Relax, go to the beach, take a trip to the spa. etc.
i hope you find something that works for you
