Does anyone have firsthand knowledge/experience with Visionary CR or the Min-U-Script programs? They seem to be in the same ballpark costwise. I only got a glimpse of them at the NCRA Convention in Anaheim. I'm looking for an alternative to E-Tran. Need to print full size, condensed, e-mail the minis and client needs viewer software so they can trial prep.

I am now using MinUscript and it's working out fine. E-Tran has been around quite a while and it's all many attys know so it's hard to get them to change.

Any updates on Depo Smart? Is anyone using Min-u-script for condensing, indexing, etc? How does it compare to E-transcript? I'm looking to migrate away from Real Legal on this product...

Sure thing. I've got a couple of programs to check out now.

I played with the sample version, April, and incorporating the exhibits was a cinch without having to read the instructions, something I never do. If you check it out more thoroughly and find out anything about the pricing, report back for me:)

Thanks, Lisa, for the great info. Sorry to hear about your situation w/E-Tran, though.

Check out DepoSmart, too. I was told the software was $250, allows you to sync video and incorporate exhibits, print minus, etc, but I was also told that the software would be free to reporters after the first of the year. I haven't confirmed this personally, though. Still using E-trans and wanting to make an eventual change due to my migration to Vista and RealLegal's decision to go to a subscription-based format after I've already spent more than a $1,000 on the software for a non-Vista-compatible version.

Free trial version of DepoSmart is available at ClarityLegalSoftware.com.

Thanks for the offer, Roberta-Anne.
Phyllis, I'll have to check out the ProText program, too.
Thanks for the help :)

April,I use ProText/ProDex and it works fine. You buy the software once and that's it. There are no monthly fees.

Hi Kyung,
I've got Eclipse and I do print/create PDF files already, but I've got clients w/paralegals who want their mini e-mailed and they want to be able to go into the transcript and do searches, make notes, sort of like you can w/E-Tran but I do not want to pay the high monthly fee for E-Tran.
You can buy Visionary CR and MinUscript for a flat fee. I'm trying to find out if anyone is familiar with either product and what their experience has been.
Thanks for responding.
