Seeking freelance Corporate/Convention Reporters in NYC

JOB DESCRIPTION:

iProbe Multilingual Solutions, Inc, is seeking freelance Corporate/Convention Reporters to work in the New York City area to transcribe conferences, seminars and corporate meetings. Subjects may include business, international law, international relations, financial, healthcare, technology. The reporter would attend the event and receive a live audio feed from the local AV. The reporter needs to have the capability to record the feed and upon request deliver the raw transcript and the audio file(s) to client upon ending of the conference. The final cleaned-up transcript would need to be delivered within 1-3 days depending on volume and client requirements. Transcription guidelines and style guide would be provided and transcripts would typically be clean verbatim (eliminating false starts, interjections, stuttering, and repeated words)

Aside from a general interest in hearing from applicants to expand our pool of freelance reporters, we may also be hiring a realtime reporter for an international law and policy conference taking place in midtown Manhattan on September 24-25 from 9AM-6PM. The cleaned up transcripts would need to be delivered on a rolling basis within 2-3 days.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
- RPR certification is required
- RMR/RDR/CRR certification is a plus
- laptop wtith Professional realtime software with CAT dictionary in area of specialties
- ability to record live audio feed from AV
- High-speed internet at home
- able to deliver formatted transcript in RTF or MS Word format
- internet research skills

REMUNERATION:
The pay is per page. Please mention your rates in the email subject as requested below for standard reporting delivering 1) a raw transcript in .rtf or ms word format and 2) your rate to deliver the cleaned-up final transcript in .rtf or ms word.

(c) please provide your equipment list and mention if you use of a portable/handheld digital recorder for audio back-up. (d) please describe your transcript clean-up process, do you work with a scopist/editor or do it yourself ; (e) what is your standard turnaround time, are you able to deliver daily or next day copy (f) if applicable please mention any experience working as a Real-time and Edit team in tandem with a scopist. (g) Finally, please mention if you would be available on 9/24-9/25 to report an international law and policy conference.
