It's been incredibly slow in So. Florida!  I had a depo. call in for me today!  The attorney said he had to move to cut his monthly expenses because business has been slow.  Whenever I complain about not working, my friends ask how it can be true and aren't people sueing, etc.  I work for two agencies and both have been very slow!

I work for two So. Florida reporters and they're anything BUT slow.  Slammed, buried, et cetera.  In my years of experience, I've found several reasons for this, but two that stick out:  To be blunt, either your firm sucks or you suck.  LOL!!!!  KIDDING!!!!  Well, sort of.

In one town, remaining anonymous for my safety, there's quite a few firms.  Several of them stay crazy busy, while two seem to be always struggling.  This is because the two don't pay as much attention to detail, send out less-than-professional reporters, you name it.  So there's part number one.

Number two, the "you suck" part.  If you turn in less-than-ideal work, turn in stuff late, get a complaint or three or four, what have you, you're going to be slow.  If you aren't networking as hard as you should, you'll probably be slow, or at least slow compared to those who are.  You've got to show that YOU have star power or the desire to achieve that power, or those who do so will swallow you up.

So make sure one of the above two aren't happening to you.  Of course, I've also found those guilty of the second one are the least likely to realize it.  *sigh*

There's tons of work in California.  I have more than enough work.  I only want to work three days a week, though.  Maybe it's time to make a venue change to where there's more work.

Also, you should be working for more than two agencies.  I consistently work for five agencies.
