Using a Sentura8000LX with Vista computer

HELP! I ordered my machine from stenotech and told them I have a Vista, so they sent a USB to Com Port adapter cable with it. I Also ordered the DigitalCat software (student edition) from stenovations. Everything was installed and now I still can't get it to work. Does anyone know what could have gone wrong. Thanks

Glen,
I am using a Vista desk top and yes, I did all of that, even went to Best Buy to make sure I had the right USB to com adaptor cable. The computer still said it is not finding the correct writer.
I an going to try to call tech support now.
Thanks,
Therese

Hi, Therese.

Did you install the driver for the USB adapter?

If you have, did you then connect your writer and your laptop and ascertain which COM port the adapter is using, and adjust digitalCAT's settings to match (Translator --> Steno Source: Stentura Realtime, plus the appropriate COM port setting)?

Hope that helps ....
