What a day to be baking! I'm sure they'll turn out great. If you're taking a pic of them, please share it with me! If I can't taste it, I can at least see it!
Lorna, If I lived anywhere near you, I'd be over 200 pounds! I love hearing about your latest baking successes. I enjoy them vicariously! Hey, join the new Magnum Steno Fan Club! I think there will be some good info coming in!
Lorna, I've had my main computer off since 8:00, but just came on to see if anything "exciting" got posted and saw your last IRS comment. So glad you got some advice. I worked on the Grand for at least five hours today - no kidding! Made fantastic progress. On a CRR 200 JC, maybe six stacks and the rest absolutely perfect notes on a super short stroke. Yes, and at least two hours the day before. My arms are tired, though, as they were already overworked before I started tweaking. I'm going to try to stay off tomorrow, but take it on my depo Monday morning. Have a great peaceful Sunday!
Lorna, my regular email is jenlug@pacbell.net. I'm sitting here editing the last Stentura job! BT is bluetooth. The barrel is a little cork-like thing about an inch away from the part that you plug into the LS. So as long as you have a cable that is USB on one end and the identical little plug on the other - within reason, of course. They must be some kind of high speed cable - it should work. Have you tried translating from the SD card yet to see if that's better?
On depoman.com there's a section for LS users, and I had been reading about people switching their cables for, as an example, their camera cable, and getting a better tran. I figured by now the LS would come with the absolute best cable. Apparently not! Have you found you also get a better tran by simply retranslating from the SD card? That and using BT will bypass the sensitivity settings and the entire Stenovations software. I was getting a better tran using the SD card than with the original cable. Mine has a barrel on the end closest to the LS. My Olympus cable has a barrel at each end and is thinner - whatever that means!
Lorna, I found out that if I switched the cable from the one that came with the LS - it has the barrel on one end - and used instead a cable that came with my Olympus digital recorder, I get a far better translation! Way less stuttering, stacking and splitting. Have you tried switching your cable, or are your translations coming out okay?
