Arlene, I am a freelance reporter and only do deposition. I have 2 depo that I need help with. One is large about 135 pages and a plaintiff and short answers and another one is a doctor that I have about 75 pages left that I need done by Monday. Full audio. Are you able to help?
You said in your post that you thought you could advertise yourself in the classifieds. That's correct, but you posted in the discussion area. I know what you're doing and you know what you're doing. You go on to say how the reporters you are editing for think you're doing an excellent job, etc. It's obvious you're trying to get clients.
I deleted the discussion because I did not want to get in a heated argument with you about this issue. For the fifth time, you can advertise yourself in the scoping groups, the proofreader group, the classifieds or in the activity feed. That's four areas for you to advertise yourself. I just feel like you just want to ignore my requests and post about yourself on the front page when I've told you time and time again to please not do that. I don't know what else there is to say. If I let you do it, I have to let everyone advertise themselves.
You can post in the scopist group too. Lots of scopists post there. When I need a scopist, I go to the Eclipse scopist group and see what scopists have posted in there. Worth a try.
I left that one because she was asking for advice; she's not a scopist yet. You put all your contact info. She didn't do that. She was asking what the best software is to get and how to get started.
I personally thought there was a big difference. She doesn't even have software and was just asking for where to turn next.
Look to the top right, there will be a box that says "Latest Activity." You can type what you want in that box. However, it is limited to so many words, so you may have to use two boxes.
Sorry to have to delete your post, but you wouldn't believe how many people want to advertise themselves on the first page. No one would want to come here to see all of that.
Arlene, sorry but I don't let people advertise themselves on the main discussion boards. If I let you do it, I have to let everyone and then literally the whole front page will be people advertising themselves. Sorry. You can post in the "Activity feed" on the main page and in classifieds or in one of the scopist groups, no problem.
Arlene,
Great. I will keep your info at hand. I am just starting the business, but have been reporting since 1981 and I expect that there will be jobs I can't cover or two at once, etc., so I will keep in touch. Thanks so much. Shelley
Arleen...It was so nice speaking with you this morning. I didn't know that you took depos in Calexico. It seems so incredibly far! I will keep in in mind for any future jobs...since this is a new case there may be more depos in Calexico. I hope everything is going well for you!

Yeah, that's it. You did it correctly. Everyone will see that post for sure.
Too bad you're not on Eclipse - I might have tried you out!!
