Has anyone done work as an international translator via stenography?

I would like to see what it looks like, if there are special commands, if you have special software or special setups, if you have additional software(I had read about CART being combined with a braille readout).
Also, if anyone writes shorthand in more than one language I would like to hear from you about this, too.
One of my comrades told me about in Mexico there is a one-handed machine for 'note taking' that is not used verbatim. Does anyone have anything in particular about this to add?
