I'm currently on PCM, 11.025 kHz, 8 bit mono at 11 kb/sec.

Okay, if someone could explain what I just wrote above to me, that would be great. I kind of have an idea, but would like to be sure.

Secondly, have you guys tried different compression levels for your audio files? If you have, do you find that one is better than another. Does one take up less room than another? Is the sound quality better w/one as opposed to another?

I have learned that if I use GSM, then I cannot zip up my audio to send to my scopist, it doesn't zip up very far at all. PCM zips up quite a bit.

What about you guys?

Just interested if anyone has done any research.

I use SPEEX and my audio files are clear and small!!
My setting is
SPEEX 24.6 kBit/s, 8.0kHz, Mono, Q10 3kb/sec

Yours records at 11kb/second, mine at 3. So a lot smaller audio file. I got this from Keith and have been very happy with it.
Can you speed it when you're using your Audiosync? The reason why I didn't like GSM was that not only could you not compress it with Winzip, but you couldn't speed it up or slow it down when listening to the wav file with the Audiosync.
Yes, you can control the speed.
