What is the best net book for the money out there, around $300?  What has the best audio?

Thanks!

Which one do you use, the $309 one Janet is talking about with the full keyboard?

No, my understanding is that from Version 10 on in Catalyst, you cannot use them with Windows 7 because of Catalyst 10 on only runs on 64 bit.  Anyone on Catalyst know different?  I'm current on my software, but have the concern when I saw the 32 bit on this netbook.

Thanks

The netbook I just bought for $309 comes with Windows 7 Home Premium, which is 64-bit.

Janet,

Did you buy the two year service plan for $79?

Have you ever seen this netbook in person?

Thanks!

I didn't buy a service plan.  I haven't seen this particular one in person.  I have had an Acer Aspire before.  They already shipped the one I ordered, so I'll let you know how I like it.  It should be here in a couple of days.

Hi Kerry,
Here's a link to STENOGRAPH where they list the hardware requirements of CaseCatalyst.

I just got my Acer.  I'm not wild about the color of it.  I like the full-sized keys, but I still prefer the Asus Eee.

It feels like it might run hot.  I haven't had it plugged in very long, and it's getting warm.

I like the Toshiba.  I have an Asus or Acer, forget which, and the port for the a/c adapter has this little pin that doesn't feel very sturdy.  The Toshiba has a full size adapter and I like that.  I have two Toshibas that I use regularly for loaners and they have been reliable so far.  Knocking on wood now.

Can you send the Acer back, Janet?   Nice try, but sounds like no go.

Janet,

I ordered this Dell from NewEgg.  I've had Inspirons in the past and they certainly had pretty good audio with a good mic.  My Fujitsu Lifebook is good recording quality, but the its playback speakers are not very powerful.  How's the audio on the one you just got?

It's 4 years old and I only take it to jobs, but Fujitsu's customer services is terrible the past year so I thought I need a backup to take to jobs.

Here's what I bought.  It only weighs 3.5 pounds, has a better processor and more RAM than the other nebooks.
