Court Reporter as Screenwriter? A play written from the Prop 8 proceedings.

Tomorrow evening there will be a one-night-only benefit reading "8," a play about the landmark federal trial of California's Prop. 8. It will be read live online. It chronicles the case "using the actual court transcripts and first-hand interviews."

I bet the court reporter didn't know she or he was doubling as a screenwriter. I'm kidding, of course. The screenwriter for 8 also wrote Milk and J. Edgar.

Directed by Rob Reiner. Starring Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Martin Sheen, Kevin Bacon, Jamie Lee Curtis, George Takei, and many more.

Whatever your opinion of gay marriage, it has certainly been a fascinating case for us Californians to follow.

After I get done producing a transcript, I often wonder about how many people will end up reading the transcript. I guess this one takes the cake for sure. www.frltexas.com
