You know you're getting old when your teen heartthrobs start passing away and when the actors from your younger days look like old men.   I was so sad to hear that Davy Jones passed away.  One of my favorite memories of him is from his appearance on The Brady Bunch.   Here's a blast from the past:

When I should be doing work, that's when I'm online the most.   Davy certainly was cute back then.  I always liked Peter Tork back then.  I have no clue why now.

I liked Peter Tork too!   My poor taste in men started at a young age.

Ha!  Me too!  :)

My sister, Jeanne, was convinced that Davy was singing to her in "Daydream Believer" - I should ask her if she still does....haha

When we were talking about Davy, of course she started singing that song - and it's a good one to have kicking around in your head...

@ Martha Ruble - I should be working!!

Mary

Maybe we should turn this thread into dead pop stars.

Anyway, I have been in a Bee Gee obsessed mode since hearing of Robin Gibb's death.   I had the Saturday Night Fever album and got burned out on the whole Bee Gee disco stuff long ago, although I always realized what superb songs they were.  They still hold up.

Anyway, I had forgotten that  the Bee Gees wrote ALL their songs and many for other singers like Dionne Warwick and Diana Ross, etc.  They probably had about 20 or so solid hits.

They are in the top 5 successful songwriters of all time.   Sr. Paul being number one.

In live concert they were so spot on with their harmonies.  Truly very talented men.

Their non-disco music is wonderful and some will be timeless classics.

Barry was such a hunk!   That hair!!   And I'm not talking about the hair on his head!!

Anyway, thanks YouTube for sending me on this wonderful Bee Gee trip.

Now the Disco era stars are dying.  Recently Donna Summer passed, too.

I love the Bee Gees too.  This is one of my favorites from their older songs.  Yes, I'm from Massachusetts.  I sing their song Words every week at karaoke.  Love that one too.

One more, Martha.  This one was from the time when I first became interested in boys.  Funny how you remember your life through music.

I absolutely adore that song, Run to Me.   Such beautiful harmonies.   I think Barry was at his hunkiest right there.  Even Robin was cute.

Later when their popularity waned, as it does with most groups, they reinvented themselves, adding soul to their music.  Nights on Broadway introduced the falsetto.
