What's the standard transcript format in Texas, how many lines per page?  Is a header on Line 1 acceptable?  Thanks.

It's my understanding it's 25 lines per page and a header on Line 1 is not acceptable.

Janet, you are so right.  It is also mandated how our paragraphs are to be set up, etc.  If one Googles the Texas Uniform Manual for court reporters, I'm sure it can be found.

How far-reaching are the Texas CSR rules?  If an out-of-state reporter prepares their transcript according to their own state CSR and it happens to contain a running header on Line 1, does Texas really have any say in that?  Or is that transcript formatting only for reporters who are working under a Texas CSR?  I'd really like to know the answer to that, because when I work for Texas agencies, I put out on their Texas format, but I see a conflict there.

Thank you, Ladies, and I'd also like to know if anyone knows the answer to M. A.'s question, please.  My understanding is that, even though case may be venued in TX, that, if a deposition is taken out of state, the out of state reporter, one who isn't a TX CSR, should use the acceptable standard format where the out of state deposition is taken, out of state formatting.  Does someone from Texas know, pls.?

Sorry, I can't be any help on that b/c I am a TX CSR, so I just do it the TX way.

Hi, Mary Ann!

Only Texas reporters working under a Texas CSR are required to follow the format.
