I just got my computer back from being reformatted.........had viruses.  Now there's this weird thing with attached files in Outlook Express.  The little Adobe/PDF icon in the attachment window is a little fuzzy.  First it was too big and I found where to size it.  But it's not quite crisp/clear.  When I drag the PDF file attachment to the desktop, it looks like it should.  So there's something in

Outlook Express that is making it appear a little fuzzy and I can't find out why, online or anywhere?

Any help?

Thanks!

Definitely call the folks who just had your computer.  This shouldn't be happening, and it sounds like the only thing that has changed was whatever they did. ("Go back to the last change" is one of my best computer-coping mechanisms.)  Even the experts can't tame these wild and wooly computers at times.  They may need to take another look.

I talked to a videographer yesterday and he said the Adobe update is bad and everyone is having problems with it.  You may want to go back to the old  Acrobat Adobe software.  This is what I found out yesterday that everyone is complaining about the new update.

Kelli,

That's good to know about the Adobe update........but these same files in my outlook express inbox were restored to my computer and the little icon didn't look that way before the computer reformat.  I can't go back to the last change, it was all wiped out and hard drive reformatted.

Now my CD/DVD won't read floppys.   Trying to install Office and Catalyst to my desk top.  It was acting up before, but now, it goofs up my software when I try to read a CD.   I already took it back to him yesterday, he ran every test and said it's fine.  Although I change antivirus to Norton.  It's rated the best and they have fixed it.  It's not hogging the computer now.  My old antivirus wasn't too good anymore as I had four viruses.  But my laptops that go to jobs never go online and don't have antivirus software.

I learned something new.........you know that little icon in the task bar lower right that looks like a dustpan?  You're supposed to use it every time you remove a jump drive...........never did that.

Also, when you get popups when you're online, don't click the X to get rid of them.  It can let a virus in.

Use Windows to close those popups by using Alt F4.

Oh, that's interesting to know about Alt F4.  I will remember that.  I did know about the dust pan because it would lock up my computer if I just pulled out the thumb drive and did not use it.  I learned the hard way.

How frustrating with your computer.  Maybe it's time to get a new laptop.  I just bought one for $700.  They are so cheap now.  May be time to upgrade.

I don't need a new laptop.  I have a two year old Fujitsu Lifebook, 4.1 pounds with CD drive, 14 inch screen.  I love it!  I have some Dell Inspiron laptops older for backups.  It works fine.

This desktop is only 1-1/2 years old.  Running XP pro.

You can try SISTEM RESTORE.

START, ALL PROGRAMS, Accessories, System tools, system restore.

And reset your computer to a certain date.

No, can't do that.  It was wiped out and reformatted...................
