Hi all,

So I got a new computer with Windows 7 and now my Blue Soleil software is reading that I only have a demo version - when I called Stenograph about this issue they said the dongle I have, which I got from THEM, is not the right one!!!!  They are claiming that the dongle I have is not from them - well, where else would I get the dongle from???  Of course I got it from them!!!  So needless to say I am frustrated to no end by Stenograph and am having great difficulties with my BT - has anyone else had this happen to them and do you have a remedy???  What happens is I initially connect, and after about 150 to 175 pages I get disconnected and the message that I am running only a demo version of Blue Soleil comes up.

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

There should be no problem solving this with
Stenograph since you purchased it from them.
You would both have your receipts.

Hi, Roberta-Anne.  I know I read about the demo version issue recently, probably on Depoman.com, but darned if I can find it.  I'll keep looking - maybe someone else will chime in with the link to the fix.  Maybe if you called back and got ahold of another technician over there, they'd help you out.  Companies who will sell you hardware and then not support it - not good.  But having them deny it's theirs?  It's Monday morning here.  I need coffee.  Maybe they just need a cup of coffee to get going this morning.

they are simply denying that it's theirs - I have sent them a pic and they are saying it's not.  I'm kind of at a loss...argh...

Dump the blue soleil - i bought mine from them a year and a half ago and it didn't work then! Stenocast has a wireless that works without a hitch, which is called Me to Me. The other problem with the blue soleil is if any other USB plugged into the computer malfunctioned, it would cause the blue soleil not to work which was more than inconvenient in the middle of a job. Stenograph threw their hands up in the air every time I called them about it, and blamed it on my software, which isn't one of their products. Save yourself the heartache and stop using it - if they haven't fixed it by now, they aren't going to.

Roberta-Anne, one of my reporters had a similar problem.  I sent your post to her.  This is what she says:

"I did have that problem at one point, different computer, when I went to Windows 7.  I had to update to a newer dongle and newer version of Blue Soleil.  No problems once I updated.  Also, you have to make sure your internal Bluetooth is turned off. "

My reporter is on Eclipse, not CC.  So the dongle she's talking about must be the BS dongle, not her software dongle.

(Referring to the dongle)  "Right.  It's from SG.  The one I have now is very small.  I originally had a larger dongle that stuck out more, kind of like the key I have from Advantage now.

Well, she probably has a newer tech who doesn't recognize the older dongle, but he/she should ask someone.  It's crazy if she bought it from SG that that happened!"

Joyce, thanks so much!!!  I have gone round and round with Stenograph and they are just not accepting any type of responsibility, saying that I may have picked up someone else's dongle on a job or maybe an attorney's - just completely ridiculous that they are denying it's theirs.  Seems like I'm going to have to suck it up and buy one from them - I am VERY unhappy about it, trust me.
