I know I've seen discussions on this before so I apologize for asking again, but . . . I'm tired of attorneys not letting me sit where I need to during jury voir dire and then struggling to hear the shy ones. I was going to use Radio Shack wireless headphones, hook them up to my digital recorder, and put the recorder close to the jury hoping I can hear better. Has anyone done this and what are the potential pitfalls? Have a better recommentation? Thank you-all so much for your input.

from a video op : without getting into a long-winded essay... one tip would be to often or always wear the headphones with one earmuff off - maybe you do this already - because especially for the job conditions of a csr, it can be frustrating to try to figure out where/who the sound came from, with both ears getting the feed from a single source [ this is in a depo setting] so with the one on you can hopefully catch the words of the soft-spoken and the other ear can pick up the courtroom as a whole does this make sense?
Yes, that makes sense. I even thought about that - what if the earphones actually block other voices. I don't know if I'm going to use them, actually. I think I'll just throw my digital recorder closer to the jurors and hope for the best. Too much can go wrong with wireless headphones. You have brought up one potential problem. thanks for your response.
I seem to remember something like that too, but I'm having trouble finding it. I'll keep looking. If you remember, let me know. Thanks for responding.
Wow! Thanks, Jeanese. I've bookmarked those pages and will investigate. Prices are very reasonable, worth giving it a try.
