Hello to everyone! Can someone PLEASE tell me what I'm doing wrong here. I recently switched over to Eclipse software to do some realtime, CAT writing. Of course I had to buy the wireless kit so I wouldn't have to use cables. I rec'd the wireless kit last week, installed the dongle on my computer (mine doesn't have its own bluetooth) and attached the Stenotech Blueport XP to my Stentura 8000 writer. After many, many hours of frustration my program is still telling me that it cannot find my writer. After an hour on the phone with Eclipse, the only way we could get the wireless to work was to attach my old cable (which I did not want to use) and then attach the Blueport XP to the end of the cable that is supposed to be attached to the computer. Am I missing something here? Can someone please help!!!

Very much appreciate anyone's help!

Hi, Nancy.

I am far from a wireless realtime expert, but I would check the Bluetooth (BT) settings on the laptop. Not sure where exactly to do that in Windows, but probably somewhere in the Device Manager.

You will want to see what COMM port your laptop's BT is using (write it down!), then turn on the BT gadget on your writer, and see if you can use whatever control panel Windows uses to control BT.

If you can get the two devices to "see" each other, then you will need to tell Eclipse to look on that COMM port I had you write down.

In theory, that should do it -- but again, I am no RT guru.

Good luck ... and hope this at least point you in the right direction.
