Defining the asterisk

I'm scoping for a reporter who has recently changed software/machine, and her asterisk isn't defined to correct; it simply comes up as an asterisk sign in her transcript. How can I define this in her jobs to actually delete the previous stroke?

Hi Holly. Yes, you can define the asterisk.

What you do is when you are definind an untran, go to the right side of the dialogue box and look for a button labeled FS. Click on the button. Scroll done the list of format symbols until you get to the part of the list where the delete format symbol is located. It's almost at the end of the list. Double click on the format symbol and it will be placed into the text box of the d-define dialogue box.
