Resolving conflicts in realtime

Hi, everyone. I am new to this group and fairly new to court reporting (licensed right at one year). I am starting to really strive for realtime quality, and I have a question about conflicts. I have several strokes that are defined as conflicts, and I'm wondering if there is a way to resolve the conflicts while I am writing realtime. Thanks for any help you can offer!

yes, there is a way to resolve conflicts while writing realtime. I had my machine set up by a CaseCatalyst trainer to put all the tricks of the trade in. It's great. I do a lot of my editing while writing. You do need a CaseCatalyst expert to set your machine up that way. You can resolve conflicts, change a wrong word, delete, all while in realtime. Hi Jennifer: I write Case Catalyst real time as well. When I started switching over to conflict free writing, I started with one conflict at a time. This was almost ten years ago or so. Like the words "and" and "an" and "Ann." What I would do is write a little sticky note that showed the new stroke for each of those words. AND = AEN, AN = AN, and ANN = A*N. and I would do that for a week. after a while I was inputting different words faster than the original week it would take me to start.

Hi Jennifer, I am a Case CATAlyst trainer in New York City. There are a few way to resolve conflicts in Case CATalyst. First is by resolving conflicts and adding them to the conflict resolution database. Every time you select a conflict that conflict is registered in the database for future use. Next, in your tranlation settings which are found by selecting tran and edit you will see you have three options: EZ Choice, Second Choice, and Auto conflict. EZ choice looks at the two words preceding the conflict and selects the correct choice based on what's in your conflict resolution database. Second choice looks at the conflict and the word to the left and the word to the right. Auto conflict automatically selects the first conflit of the series.

In realtime, you can use your Case CATalyst 4 Realtime Commands job dictionary located in your System Files case. There are three entries that you can use in realtime and they are 1*, 2*, and 3* which is for conflict choices 1, 2, and 3. By executing them from your writer you can select the correct conflict choice.

Of course, there's the good old hard work of resolving your conflicts through your writing. However, using Case CATalyst's conflicts resolution functions can be a more expedient solution to your current problem.

Thank you so much, Anthony. The 1*, 2*, 3* is the answer that I was looking for. I don't think my question was as clear as it should have been. I learned a conflict-free theory, but there are still a few words with similar outlines that I just can't seem to write correctly. I have them set up as conflicts in my dictionary, so when I write one of them, what comes up on my screen is ^about^ability^ (or something like that). So my question really was specific to how I can choose the correct word using my writer while writing in realtime. I appreciate your help. I will give this a shot at my next depo.
