Angela,

Thanks for your interpreter referral.

I have a question. Do you network with others? I have some depos coming up in the Los Angeles area that I can't cover (I'm in Oceanside) and I'd like to find an agency in Los Angeles that I could network the jobs through.

Hey, Angela: Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know I started a book readers group here on CSR where we can share what we're all reading and why. I hope you join!

P.S. I also changed my screen name from "amanuensis."

Will do, although it may be a little while. I've got three or four other books in my stack right now; however, I'm looking forward to trying something new!

Okay, I looked up the three books and then visited the bookstore. The only copy they had of the first book was a hardback which was HUGE. I'm away from home and always seem to have problems with overweight luggage, so I'll wait until I get home and either buy it online or just go out and get it. It does look intriguing. Thanks for the suggestion!

I read the Rice vampire books ages ago (who hasn't, right?), but none of her other work. How "creepy" are the Mayfair ones? Will they leave me with images that will keep me up at night, like King? :)

Hi there:

I used to love reading horror stories, have read all the ones you mention, but Koontz and King kind of got boring for me after a while. They seemed to just be writing the same story over and over.

Have you ever read John Saul? I went through a Saul phase for a while in my early 20s and remember enjoying him.

Funny, as I've grown older, I don't enjoy horror stories, especially those involving small children, like I did when I was younger. I suppose it has something to do with having a child of my own and an overactive imagination. I think if my daughter had ever come into my room whispering "redrum" in the middle of the night, I would have died of a heart attack then and there.

King does still haunt me sometimes. When I was pregnant, a friend dragged me to see the original Pet Sematary. I thought I'd be okay, having read the book, but I was wrong. I had to go wait in the lobby halfway through because my "friend" needed to stay to see the whole thing and I couldn't sit through any more, ha ha. I still sometimes wake in the middle of the night, having been awakened by some unknown sound or whatever, and I have a moment where I don't want to open my eyes because I just *know* that dead guy with the skin hanging off his face is going to be bending over my bed waiting for me to look at him! :) :)

Have a great day and thanks for accepting the friend invite!

Thanks for saying good morning the other day. I logged off before I saw it. So when are you going to set me up with the job of a lifetime so I can retire? lol

We're doing closing arguments tomorrow and then the jury deliberates on Tuesday. So it should be over by mid-week. It was supposed to go until middle of March!
