"So what does it do?  Is there a box that comes up and lets you know the time you've been writing?"

"Quyen, you need to tell me how to use the timer through Eclipse.  I don't know how to do that.  I use the stopwatch through my iPhone, but you need to remember to stop/start."

"No.  It's actual "on-record" time.  Breaks do not count.  Seven hours on record.  Usually get out about 6:30 p.m."

7-Hour Deposition Rule

How do they calculate the 7 hours for deposition time?  If a deposition starts at 10:00 and ends at 5:00 with lunch from 12:30 to 1:30 would that be considered 6 hours?  What about breaks throughout the day?  Are they considered deposition time or not?  Had a client ask and I told him I honestly didn't know.  Any input would be appreciated.See More

"And this is why the reporter, who is an independent contractor, a business, should have their own rate sheets and not charge based on what an agency charges per page. "

"I imagine this practice is a direct result of "contracting" for court reporting services, a way to offset negotiated "discounts" provided to large consumers of court reporting services.  What bothers me about this is that if…"
