"I don't think Case Catalyst has a timer that just tracks time on the record.  So what I do is just note down what time we went off and back on the record by looking at my time stamps, and if the atty wants to know how much time we've…"

"Quyen, you need to tell me how to use the timer through Eclipse.  I don't know how to do that.  I use the stopwatch through my iPhone, but you need to remember to stop/start."

"No.  It's actual "on-record" time.  Breaks do not count.  Seven hours on record.  Usually get out about 6:30 p.m."

7-Hour Deposition Rule

How do they calculate the 7 hours for deposition time?  If a deposition starts at 10:00 and ends at 5:00 with lunch from 12:30 to 1:30 would that be considered 6 hours?  What about breaks throughout the day?  Are they considered deposition time or not?  Had a client ask and I told him I honestly didn't know.  Any input would be appreciated.See More

"And this is why the reporter, who is an independent contractor, a business, should have their own rate sheets and not charge based on what an agency charges per page. "
