Hi Stacy,

Haven't seen you in quite a while.  I missed that picture of that beautiful Bear.   I hope you're doing well.

Thank you for the info. No, you don't sound crazy knowing such info on dog breeding. Its important and after seeing some dog shows on how dogs are bred I've taken more of an interest. My search for a young male Swissy is rough. Most of them are in the south west and require me to go their to meet the dog. After seeing, and reading a bit of the Bermese Mountain dog I think I'll add them into my search. My other choice for a dog that I know I get along with is a Rotty/German mix. I had one for 12 years before old age took him. It has to be a male due to my "royal queen" cat. Got to love them :-)

Ha! Yeah, it's so confusing! If you use TM, you don't have to check the phonetic deal any more. You used to have to.

I sent out my 500 pages of video depos to SIX different scopists over the weekend. Now I have to proof. So glad I have Dragon so I can dictate! I say "down," and the page goes down. It's magic!

Just had a sweet potato as my snack. Ice cream later tonight, for sure!

Stacy, I spoke too soon about the phonetics option. I had to uncheck it as I couldn't figure out some A/B suggestions! I'm so happy as I have no jobs until Friday, and I need to rest my arms!

Hope you're doing great and are taking your breaks!

Stacy, April's so funny - I'm no oracle, but the 250-page video dep I took on Thursday I split up into three sections and farmed out to two different scopists. I'm still trying to get rid of the third section! I may have to do it myself. I put out a few feelers for some new scopists - new to me. I have several, but they're all super busy right now. It looks like I'm going to need around 10 that I can check in with! No, I'm not kidding.

I may post soon as a CR looking for an experienced Eclipse scopist, and see what happens.

I bet you all had fun last night! Hope to see some pics here soon!

I was testing Eclipse settings this morning - retranslating some stuff. Here's my conclusions:

WAY better with TM turned on - also phonetics and fix misstrokes. Far outweighs turning any one of those options off. Especially on a difficult depo.

I was thinking I might like to see the untran in steno, but it requires so much more additionally editing it's so not worth it. I'm really glad I spent the time, because it was bugging me and now I've proved it to myself.

And my TM has been set to 5.

Hi Stacy,

I am a bit of a control freak about my work, and I was also sure that nobody else could make sense of some of the garbage that would come out of my machine! But now with the advent of the wonderful wav files, the scopist can just listen and fill in! Jenny assured me over and over that the scopists have seen way worse writing! I just bit the bullet and started turning them over. Absolutely no regrets! In fact, like I said before, I'm pretty thrilled!

As far as your hugh transcripts, maybe you could give just half to a scopist? Ask Jenny. Jenny is kind of like the oracle that I go to for advice on just about everything!

You don't know me, but I'm Jenny's sister. I was just snooping on her page and saw your comment about maybe using a scopist. Jenny will tell you that she bugged me for YEARS about using a scopist and I really resisted. Well, I finally started using one a couple of months ago. I only do depos. Not only was I able to do more depos and end up with more free time, but the biggest blessing has been the decrease in my stress level! I will never go back to scoping my own work! (Unless, of course, work drops way down!)

I just wanted to put in my unasked for two cents!

Stacy,

Thanks so much for your birthday wishes. I have been incredibly busy the past few months. I have two more big case of video depos Wednesday and Thursday. I am trying to find a few more backup scopist. I don't suppose you have a recommendation? E-mail me at jenlug@pacbell.net if you do.

It sounds like everything is going well for you. Have a great time this evening!

Perfect name, Bear! I actually was drawn to the Bernese first, but worried about shedding after having a Siberian Husky. So their temperament is different? I'd hate to need to call in the Dog Whisperer immediately, although I'd love to meet him. Do you watch that show?

Is that your beautiful dog? I have always dreamed of having a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. I love the big guys! To me, the Tri colors are the most beautiful.
