I just downloaded the Notepad++. Went to the SAVE AS. And it gives the .txt. Wordpad++ is basically a word processing program, just like Word. My guess is your client does not have regular Word software (just a guess - so don't anybody send me meanygrams) - and Word software is pretty cheap today.
Stephanie, if that is true, your client is using Wordpad++ in place of Word (because of the cost); just confirm how you are getting paid by the client . You don't want to end up working for free.
Stephanie, if that is trye
I was incorrect with my information. Notepad++ is a freedownload software. Go to Yahoo, type in Notepad++, then go to Wikipedia. They give a very good description of the whole program. You should be able to move on from there.
I just looked at my stuff. A notepad document has the extension of .txt. A notebad document is a no frills basic text formatting (.txt). You can also do the same basic text formatting in Word - when you save the document SAVE AS - scroll down your arrows, and you will find the .txt choice for basic text formatting.
I can't figure out how to edit. RTF is rich text format.
Notepad is an accessory to Microsoft Word. That is exactly what it is - a notepad.
When you open Notepad all you will see is small space for a note. However, the extension is .txt. You can save Word documents in other formats, such as a PDF, or RTF (rich test format). I can't imagine anyone attempting to transcribe a document in Notepad.
