Kelli, complain a lot to Stenocast and they will switch the USB ones to the Serial adapters which needs no drivers....You just slip it in their serial port or their usb to serial adapter. I love it.

Stenocast's tech support is great too - if you ever have any issue with connecting to an attorney, they are very helpful. I've been using their products since they came out - both the X1 and X7.

I use the Stenocast X7 and I love it. i used to have their usb ones, but that was a pain installing the drivers on the attorneys computers because they are secured and it's just a PITA, but I complained to them and they gave me the serial ones, and with those I use a usb to serial adapter and it's so easy. Nothing to install, just put it and go. And no messy wires. It's worth the money.

I'm not using the Stenocast version, but I am using the Stenograph version and IT IS GREAT! As long as your attys have a wireless computer, it's the easiest and most failsafe method of transmitting realtime to attys' computers I've experienced. No more hassle with COM ports and wires everywhere, and it doesn't cut out after the tokens expire after 7 hours or so ... Highly recommended!
