Hi. Just bought a new laptop and when I go into my device mangager to look for my com ports, I can't find them in the list. Anyone know how to locate them? I've tried scanning but no such luck. Have a big job tomorrow and I can't get my realtime hooked up.......

Hi Rachael,

If you're using a USB-to-serial adapter, you have to have it plugged into the USB port for it to show up in Device Manager. It will show up under Ports in Device Manager if it is configured properly.

Rachael, do you have vista or XP.. am guessing vista.
What ports are you looking for? vista is not going to show you ports that are not active.. I am just not clear what it is you are looking for.
