Ok. My computer crashed last week. The tech had to erase my entire hard-drive. He was SUPPOSED to do my personal dictionary but I have searched everywhere and it is not here! Even simple things like THE COURT: are not in there! I cannot possibly test like this!!! Is there a way that someone can copy theirs and send it to someone? Please help me, I will try ANYTHING!!!!

This is why I have online backup. Accessible from anywhere with a wifi connection.

Not only back up that dictionary, but send copies of it to your friends and relatives! Don't just have your backup in your house. Your house could burn down! Put one in your glove compartment in your car, one in your safety deposit box, give one to your sister...

Are you a student, Angela? What CAT software are you using?

Nina --

Pardon my jumping in here, but the Phoenix Theory dictionary has over ... well, let's just say the printed version of the dictionary is nearly 900 pages ... so that's a lot of typing! :o)

Just had another idea...

If your dictionary is gone, and you have absolutely no way to get it from anyone, it probably means you will have to enter it again (shudder)...BUT...there is a company called Dictionary Jumpstart, and here is the website address:

www.dictionaryjumpstart.com

The company address is 1388 Highland Hill Drive, Lowell, MI, 49331

They have different modules and supposedly these can cut down the time it takes to enter words in your dictionary, so that may at least help you to build a new one.

Angela, do you actually have the hard drive (I mean, did the tech give it back to you)? There are computer people who can restore and save information even on a damaged hard drive, if they have the right equipment. Maybe you need to find one of those people. I once had to do that with a hard drive from one of my work computers.
Other than that, I don't know what to tell you that is different from the other suggestions. The best one seems to be locating someone who uses Pheonix theory from your school, but maybe someone on this forum who uses Phoenix can also help you.

I attend CRID online. I have been trying to reach someone at school, it isn't working, I don't know what else to do.....

I feel for you. I'm afraid I have no better suggestions. Trying to locate someone from your school seems like the best try. Have you thrown out the name of your school?

KJM: I would certainly appreciate it. I added you as a friend, it is the only way I can send you my info! I do use CaseCAT. Thanks!!
