Hey All!  I just wanted to get some input on the outlook for the scoping field.  I have been in the scoping business for 20 plus years, full-time and part-time.  I have my own scoping business.  But due to the economy downfall in the past few years, I have only been able to do it part-time, if you want to call it that.  I have since had to take a job as a legal assistant to supplement the income.  My question is:  Is there enough work out there to go back to scoping full-time, or should I not give up my day job?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks a bunch!

Hey Kelli, thanks for the input!  Thing is I have my own scoping business and have done scoping as well as proofing for the past 20 plus years!  When the economy dropped in 2008, my clientele went from 25 (steady) to 2 and maybe a few more sporadically.  I love scoping!  I have contacted some of my clientele, but I think they maybe just don't have enough to source out.   Anyway, thanks for the input.

You just have to get some reporters that depend on you.  My main scopist I've used for nine years and couldn't do my job without her, especially when it comes to daily delivery.   She's excellent.

"If" you are a good scopist, which are hard to find, you shouldn't have any problems.  I know there are tons of scopists that do nothing but scope.  You just need to get the reliable clientele.
