Hey, Angela! How are you? I've not been on the board much recently - finally wound up moving to Lubbock, TX and finished a semester at CCR. How are things going for you?

Hi Angela. Just wondering if you are still interested in purchasing "Brief Encounters" from me.

My internet server blew out my internet connection, so I am unable to go online. (I'm using a pc at the library in two towns over from me, now)

Please phone me at 912/865-4307 to arrange for payment (through PalPal?). I'll deduct $5 from the cost of the book to cover the cost of the call.

Thanks!

Any luck? did you get it fixed?

Ok, your best bet (it should work no problem) is to go down to radioshack tomorrow morning and take both your old power cord and machine with you.
Show them your cable size and let them match it (also make sure that they match the input/output power.
also, MAKE sure you test it right there.

If that doesnt work, call the company that makes the machine.. i tired googling the term "stentura Protege power cable" and didnt get anything of value.

The radioshak trip should do it I think.

What is your machine model S/N number.. etc?

Try wiggling the plug that attaches to your machine, if you see the power indicator come and go then thats were the problem is.
Thats almost it 99% of the time.

Oh,
Yes, i dont know anything about that, i am sorry.
Try restarting it, it should fix it I think.

also, Remove the battery and plug your machine.. if your machine doesnt start then you have a problem with your power cable.

I made a copy of the CD and had my husband drop it in the mail today. If it doesn't work, I can loan you the original, but you will have to send it back to me because the StenEd theory is on the same disc, and I want to keep it in case I ever need it. Good luck and let me know if you need to borrow the original. :)

I am in Califorina. We have to pass a state CSR to work. I would LOVE to be qualified to take the October CSR, but it's kind of a long shot for me. I've got to get to 225! Plus I haven't even started to intern, and we have to do 50 hours.

How old are your kids? I've got 3 girls: a 5-year-old, and twins who will be 3 in August.

BTW...I guess I ought to give you my name. I'm Kyla. I suppose someday I will get around to fixing that on my profile. When I first signed up here many moons ago, I wasn't sure if it was like a myspace/facebook where a bunch of people you hardly knew in elementary school suddenly want to be friends and send you a ton of messages/emails/surveys. LOL

How do you like the online schooling? Does your state require certification to work?

Great! Since you use Case and this CD was made for loading into Case software, it should work fine. At least it will be a starting point for you to rebuild your dictionary. Send me your address, and I'll drop it in the mail for you.

If you are in a hurry, you could try calling Stenograph to see if they can send you a download link. I know they have sent driver software for my key to my email, so they may be able to send you a download of the Phoenix dictionary as well. (Just a thought. I know I would be anxious and impatient if I were in your situation.)

Aside from the unfortunate circumstances, it's good to "meet" you. What speed are you at? Do you got to an onsite school or take classes online? I noticed we have a few things in common :) I am 31, married with 3 kids. I'm at 160-170. I've been in school about 2 years now. It's quite a juggle with a family; isn't it?

Angela, sorry I didn't respond sooner, but I do have someone I'm going to use. I will keep your information in case I need someone when the other person cannot proof for me. Thank you, Rosalie

Hey, Angela - how's the first few days? I'm still stuck and still struggling and considering leaving to attend CCR - still. Chrissy's taken off like greased lightning! I've started the fingering exercises, too and they do help - but we will see. Good luck with your speeds.

You know, I was sort of upset about not having the Performance Accelerator, but I talked to an awful lot of people about it and I'm not sure that it would really help -- I think the answer is simple - you must write and write and write (til your fingertips are numb), then write some more! That is my goal this semester - I'm on my 100's by the way - it will come!

Aww! Thank you for the motivation! lol yeah believe me it's not easy. I still keep trying to make it easy for myself since I'm so close. Well, believe it or not you are close as well. It just may seem like too much, but is not. Especially once you hit your 160/180s oh man you'll feel your almost done. Well, atleast that's how I felt, lol. So have you always been online? What a dumb question I guess you have huh if you're in Wisconsin, LOL! but you never know. It's weird because I could swear I've heard your name in school. I don't know but it just sounds familiar, lol. Do you know anyone else in school? Well, I'll let you go. I wish you luck on your 120/140s. I know how hard it is, but just don't give up. I know it may suck online but you can still accomplish it. I do have classmates that they have tried online and they didn't like it so they came back, lol. Unfortunately, your pretty far but atleast you still have the advantage of being with us online, lol. Better than nothing at all! =) All right. Well wish ya luck. As I always say, hit it and quit it! LOL

Hello Angie! Yeah sorry about that I haven't been online in a while, LOL. How are you? I do go to day school at CRID, and I'm just finally trying to get out, lol. I just promoted last quarter to my 225s =) How about you? Are you in day school or night? Well, If you have gone to day school I'm pretty sure I've seen you around, lol. Keep in touch okay =)

Just saw your second comment -- the tapes helped? Great! I'm just going to dig in and write, write, write - in all honesty, last semester I just kept up hours and really idled along - bad mental place -- but I'm much better and gonna kick it this quarter!

You get numbers by posting -- I try to keep up with everyone, but I've been a little pre-occupied - I have a kid graduating - talk about a time consuming task!

:-)

Hey, Angela - I haven't been on the board - sorry -- my life is in upheaval - my boss is going to retire next year, so I have quit my job and am moving to Dallas - - I can't get another job in this town that pays as well as what I do - so I'm ditching and going back to Texas (thank God)! So, I didn't test much last semester - I still have an 80 to do and then move on up - have to do it this quarter -- but I don't think it will be a problem -- although the last two weeks of the quarter I will probably be moving! Uuughhh....

How are things with you - better, I hope so! Let me know!

I just went out at lunch and bought a CD of Alice in Wonderldand and Gone With the Wind (which is why Vivien Leigh is my avatar now - I've had one too many birthdays), just so I could do some dictation and have some different content - not looking forward to Jabberwocky, though - think I'll skip that one!
