For the 10th Outing, is anyone interested in going to the Huntington Gardens Tea Room in San Marino, CA, on Saturday, Dec. 6th, or Sunday, Dec. 7th? If so, let me know.

Also, I'm thinking of doing a Palm Springs spa outing in late January. Let me know if anyone would be interested in that as well.

Hi, Marla! Those photos from the SD outing are pretty funny! Thanks for posting those.
As I mentioned to you at the outing, I'd be up for the Palm Springs outing in January. December is such a crazy month for me, it's hard to commit to anything (holidays and all, ya know). I'll keep my eyes peeled for any Palm Springs info for January!
I love the Huntington Gardens. I'll do my utmost to make it.
I usually try to have the outings in the afternoons on Sundays because that's when restuarants aren't so busy and can be more flexible with my not knowing exactly how many will actually show.

I know lots of people have Christmas parties in December, so I'd like to have it at a date and time that doesn't conflict with most of them. Wish me luck, right? Last year's holiday outing at the Standard Hotel's rooftop bar had a great turnout. It was just a wee bit windy and chilly up there. So if anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

And I was thinking of having the January spa weekend here: http://www.sparesortcasino.com/src_spa.html

I was just there. This spa is very centrally located to downtown Palm Springs. And the building it is housed in is fine. I did not actually visit the spa facilities themselves, but the hotel it is attached to seemed fine.
I did see your comment about Claremont. And, you're right, it is an adorable little town. I've been there for depos several times and just fell in love with the place. It's very easy to get to for me, coming from Highland Park. Further away than Century City, but so much quicker to get to. Funny how that works. I haven't gotten any requests for a Claremont outing, but I've been thinking of having one in Pasadena. Think you'd be interested in that one?
All-you-can-eat buffet with tea is $24.95/person, but you have to buy admission to the gardens as well, which is $20. Pretty pricey, huh?

Maybe we should just have lunch somewhere else. What do you guys think? I hate the idea of forcing people to pay a certain amount. I like having these outings at places where people can buy only a drink if they want.

We had an outing at the Descanso Gardens Japanese Tea Room, and they charged me $40 for the two people that didn't show. That wasn't cool.
