An attorney said: "It's not an endurance contest. It's not a memory contest. It's not a quick show." Does anyone know if there is any such thing as a "quick show"? I've just never heard of it, and I'm wondering if I heard it right.

Please help! Thanks!

Sorry to post this here. I tried to go to the Word Help group, but I am having trouble with this site and the posting buttons -- well, just buttons on CSRnation in general. Nothing happens when I click the buttons to post. Yes, I've cleared my browser cache. Very frustrating. :(

Never heard the expression but I will opine that quick show could mean something like a talent contest where you perform once and that's it whereas in a deposition, you get a do-over as in later during the dep you can say, "Whoops, I just thought of something."

But unless it's clear as a bell, I'd throw the atty an email with the whole sentence plus the sentence or Q before & after and ask for confirmation of the hunch.
Allison, I think you're right! It makes sense, considering "memory contest." Word endings often blend in with the beginning of the next word. I think I'll go with that!

Thanks for your help, guys! Cheers! :)
I agree, Allison!
Allison, you always seem to come through with the RIGHT answer.

BTW, I love your new avatar. How professional and pretty you look! There's a reason why I have a black lab as my avatar. I think my Sammy dog is prettier than me by a long shot. :-)

Allison, I'm still struggling with that elliptical machine, but I definitely am following your advice about taking it slow. Man, I still can 't go longer than 10 minutes.

I just bought a Tony Little Rock 'n Roll Stepper machine ($59 and free shipping), and I am going to do that alternate days of my elliptical. The beginner level on the Rock 'n Roll Stepper is 5 minutes every other day. I already feel a BIG difference in my stomach muscles. The elliptical makes my muscle above my knees burn, and so I figured it was time for a change.

Quyen, I sometimes have trouble with the buttons on CSRnation on my laptop, but I don't have any problems with the forum buttons on my desktop. I wonder what that means.
See, my mind went straight to the smut gutter with "quick show." On TV I've seen snippets where somebody can put money in a machine and the curtain parts and then the girl starts to dance. Gotta keep filling the quarter machine up if you want anything more than a quick show.

Glad it's figured out.
Haha, Judy. Too funny! Thanks for the laugh. Glad to see I am not alone!
