I have worked as a legal assistant for many years.  Most attorneys pay at the very last minute - and they do that intentionally.  When I have said, "We need to get this paid.", the attorney has said, "No, we don't.  We have a minimum of thirty days even before they start .... ... and by law, they can't charge us a late fee ...
