Eclipse (Advantage) Made Me Pay Postage for the V5 CD

So my mail carrier rings the doorbell today.  I open the door and see she's holding my Eclipse CD in her hand.  She says they didn't pay postage, and there's a big fat red "POSTAGE DUE" stamp on the CD case.  It was $1.20.  No big deal, right?  I pay $600/year for support, which INCLUDES my updates.  I guess the once-every-few-years postage was not included in that $600.  Did it break my bank or kill me to fork out $1.20?  No.  Tacky?  Absolutely.

That is SO strange.  Did you call them?  I received mine, no postage due.  Sounds like an error on someone's part.

Lol.  Figures it would be me, then.  For my time, it's probably not even an issue worth calling them over.  I guess, on the bright side, at least my carrier still tried to collect from me and deliver it anyway.  The post office could have returned to sender and delayed my delivery.  Not that I can't live without it for another few weeks.

 

 

I haven't installed it yet.  They could have sent mine by camel by the time I get around to it.  :)

I received mine last week and didn't owe postage.  I'm sure it was just a simple error on their part.
How come I didn't receive my upgrade? Do you actually have to order it or something? I thought that's what you get when you pay your $600 fee. They should just mail it to you. I got some other court reporters V5 upgrade and then FedEx came back to my house to retrieve it and give it to someone else. Bummer.
Kelli, Advantage releases the major upgrade on CD by zip code, and the lady told me CA is last on the list.  I called mostly just wondering if it was available for general release yet; it is.  It just hasn't gotten to us yet.  She said they'd send me one since I called.  If you want yours, you could call them, and they'll send you one.
I am like Janet; if it works, why look under the hood.  I am a little reluctant since you need to upgrade your key and I have to get my scopists to do it too.  What a pain.
I didn't know anything about a key upgrade.  Do we just call tech support for a code, or do we actually have to send the key back for a new one? I took me almost a year, after my first call to them, to swap my parallel key for a USB one, because I was just too paranoid to part with it!

The cool thing about the new upgrade is if you have your Division Intervals set to dump into, say, DropBox for your scopist to do an immediate expedite, it'll also dump the audio file, so they say.  I haven't done it yet, so am not sure it actually works.  That is the biggest reason I wanted the new update.  I actually went online -- twice -- and requested the upgrade. As I say, I got it last week (I'm in So Cal).

I've only done one job with the new update and am working with tech support on a minor problem (probably 100% my fault) before I can go full-speed ahead.

 

I tried the DB with the division intervals, Judy, and there was a glitch with it.  Haven't taken the time to figure it out yet because the opportunity hasn't come up...but I will!!!!

That sounds crazy, Kelli!  They actually came to your house and took it back???  wow..
