I know a few reporters that work for Esquire.  They take a bit to pay unless you let them keep 10 percent more and then 

they pay you sooner, at least that's what I've heard through a friend.

I take work from Esquire. They pay weekly, actually. I’m local, in Florida, and have never had an issue with them. They’re great.
